How are you'll keeping your baby busy?

My baby would play well on her play mat by herself but as she is growing I feel she has started to get bored and need more. How do you'll keep your babies occupied and entertained throughout the day?

Alot of reading books in silly voices, singing songs and dancing or trying to go outside but it's not every day and some days you have more energy than others. Honestly them learning to play solitary is also important

I have a couple different “stations” in my house. She has her playpen with toys where she can play alone. I have a high chair that has no legs (like a booster with a back) that sits on my kitchen counter for when I’m doing kitchen things and she can watch me and interact with me. I also have a play saucer she can sit in for when I need to do laundry. Then there’s times where I play with her in my bedroom on my bed or in the living room. I just try to change it up when she’s bored so that I find a balance between meeting her needs and getting the things that I need to for the rest of our family done.

Stations: jolly jumper, bumbo and practice sitting exercises, tummy time, playing with different fabrics and textures/learning to grab, songs like wheels on the bus, etc., walk outside in the stroller, house tour, practice sitting with a boppy so I can do laundry, mat time, pet the dog time, sensory bag time (I just make 1 every week), FaceTime a family member (we live remotely, look at pictures, practice sign language, read a book

I live my life and she's along for the ride. She watches her brother a lot and I just move her or change her scenery when she gets bored. A lot of carrying her around while I get stuff done.

Thank you ladies! I do most of the activities that have been mentioned above but I still feel I'm not doing enough. 😅 I will look for more DIY sensory activities.

I hear ya! It’s good to see what others do

babies love this too. They love observing and being included in what you are doing. Eg. I rearranged by living room yesterday eve and my baby just enjoyed watching me. Then we took out the dog toys to sort for toss and keep and she enjoyed this too.

Our little guy loves watching us cook! We don't have a very good set up for this at the moment, though, so we just periodically show him what's cooking in the pots.

Nursery funding

My child turned 9 months last week. I applied for government funded hours nearly 2 months ago and so well within the required timeframe for the April term, however upon receiving my first invoice without the funding applied and having questioned this, I have now been informed that the stretched funding doesn’t start until 4th May.

Has anyone else been told it won’t start until May?

The government site states it should start from April 1st, and so I intentionally set my nursery start and return to work as the start of April for that reason, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to afford the nursery on my sole income without the funding

Toddlers

How often are your toddlers asking for food? My oldest who is 3 just finished a whole plate of food and not even 10 minutes later he’s requesting more food. I know he’s going through a growth spurt, but how do you respond to this.

He has no respect for anything to do with me.

Husband and I decided to separate 3 days ago. I've been sleeping on the floor in the kids room, and we both have to stay in the same apartment for a while. He wont stop pushing little things and I am reaching my limit. Photos in comments

Is this normal?

Is it just my husband that does this? He is able to work from home via his computer and in the mornings and evenings he is on there doing his job. When he is done for the day he tends to stay in the room and either play video games or watch something. He will occasionally come out and play with the girls for a few minutes and that’s it but when I really need him he says he is busy. My daughters are both 1 year old now and I am just wondering how much involvement should he have with them now?
Idk if this is the norm or not…..

Starting BLW

Yesterday our pediatrician said we could start purées or baby lead feeding. My baby is exclusively breast-fed. She’s already tried some foods, but now we can start with one to two meals a day. This is what my doctor recommends, any ideas for what to make with this??
