How do you get dad to settle baby to sleep?

My bubba is almost 11 months now and has only ever had me put her to sleep every night. She just cries for anyone else, even dad. How long did it take you guys to get bubs to settle without mum? Can it be done quickly? Are there any tricks to it? Do you need to be consistent every night with dad, or is once a week ok to ease Bubba into it?
I am going back to work in December, and I am freaking out because I work nights. Please help

I would also like to know. We’re going on 11 months of only ever falling asleep with me or my mom a couple times. But her dad works very early every morning.

Lol I was in a show and for a while week my husband had to get my son down by himself. Sometimes I would get some not so pleasant texts but you kinda have to just throw them both into the frying pan and let them adjust on their own. My son now goes down great for my husband.

When I started night school, my husband had to take over. It wasn't easy in the beginning. But consistency and routine is key. Babies prefer predictability. After the second week, my son started to get used to the new routine. And now, sometimes my son prefers my husband for naps and bedtime.

This was why we took it in turns to do bedtime from birth

It was tricky to begin with, but I stayed in the room to reassure my husband. Mu little one cried for a bit but then when he realised he'll have to make do with dad, settled. My husband developed his own way of rocking him to sleep and it works every time, my son falls asleep in minutes. 😴
It's possible, but you need to be persistent. Encourage your husband to try different ways than yours and see what works best for both of them.
As mum's we tend to think our way is the best way and many times I bit my tongue and stood back to see that actually these little ones can adapt so well to different people.

Dad reads him a story, then lays in bed with him, let's him roll around and get energy out, plays lullaby or shhhshing music, rubs his back. Once he's out, he's relatively easy to transfer to the crib. It took him awhile to find a routine, but now he's always proud when he can get him down and he gives me pointers now. I always make sure to be appreciative and tell him good job, a little ego inflation motivation doesn't hurt 😉

For me I am usually the one who puts my daughter to sleep every night but I did make it clear to my husband that he needs to be present also because there may come a time where he's going to have to do it and if she's not used to him she's gonna cry and be harder to put to sleep. So even if I was the one who put her to sleep I made sure he was in the room with us and there for the process. Now he doesn't have to always be there he will pick up while I put her to sleep but if I need to tag him in cuz I'm overstimulated or she doesn't want me he can get her to bed with no problems

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?
