Hi all, I’m 35wks, soon to be a first time mum and baby has been head down for pretty much all of pregnancy, and then this last week little monkey has decided to have a flip around and be breech, and now is lying a bit between being breech and transverse! 🥲 I’m going to be induced early due to medication with gestational diabetes and other factors, I’m just wondering what is the likelihood he will be able to swish himself round back to being head down by himself in the next 3-4 weeks? 🥺 I really want to try have a natural birth if possible, because I’ve had allergic reactions to nerve blocks on my back in the past and I’m worried if I have a section I’ll have to be asleep. I really want to have a birthing experience and not have it taken from me by being under for it, also I have dogs who love to be jumpy and it’ll be hard after a section to stop them as they’re only young and don’t understand why they can’t have fusses! My bed is also very low, so a section is just something I really wanted to avoid if possible! Obviously I know if it comes to it then it needs to be done and is fine, but wanted to ask incase there’s a chance he will turn/anything I can do in the mean time to help! So any advice would be so helpful! Thanks in advance 🤍 xxx

Hey, have you tried looking at the spinning babies website for excersizes? Not the same but my baby still wasn’t engaged at 41 weeks (first time pregnancy so abnormal!) and I tried them to get her to engage in the pelvis. I tried these excersizes but I think I left it too late in the day to try. Unfortunately didn’t work for me and had induction/c-section but may help you!

Blessyou lovely, little one is a tinker! Our midwife said babies can still move right until the end and if he’s transverse good thing is he isn’t low in your pelvis and unlikely to get stuck or too comfortable there! Like Kaki’s comment the spinning babies website has some great exercises that you can do to help him on his way. Otherwise has your midwife spoken to you about an ECV? I would definitely ask about this - it’s when they put a bit of pressure on your tummy to try and move baby x

My sister had her baby transverse and the decided to do a inversion and it flipped the baby back. You can check with your doctor about that

Awww thank you all for your kind messages! I’ll give those exercises a go, and ask about the possibility of having him manually turned! 🙈 my Movements just feel so different and uncomfortable as if he doesn’t have much room to move in this position, I’m hoping/guessing this is normal! Xx
