Waking up at 5am

Anyone’s babies waking up at 5am everyday? 😭 He’s always been an amazing sleeper but for the past week he’s wide awake at 5am, he will often have a bottle and go back to sleep til about 7. He goes to bed at 7/8 and we stick to 2 hour wake windows in the day. X

Yep I’m in the same boat still try to give the bottle in dark all that and sometimes he’s wide awake sometimes fall asleep! If he’s still drowsy but can’t fall asleep properly I take him next to me - but haven’t done this in a while he used to love it we sometimes slept till next feed like that !

does he have teeth coming through? My little girl has always been a good sleeper until a couple of weeks ago she was waking up between 3-4am, I would feed her give her some Calpol and pop her back down, she would then lay there chatting for ages before eventually going back to sleep. Once her two bottom teeth came through she went back to sleeping through.

Just to check are you following the wake windows for his age or his sleepy cues? For my LO it says 2-2.5 hours i think but for him it goes 2 hours when he first wakes up/2hr 15/2.30 and then 2hr 45 before bed. I also read somewhere that if they go back to sleep in the morning it can stop them from making those hours up at night. It is so hard those early starts because even though the baby goes to sleep early, we don’t/can’t sometimes🤣

4.30 today for us 😭🤦‍♀️ and how he is going to cope until bedtime with 5 naps is beyond me. I feel you! And I know some people say oh I'd love them to sleep through the night but I'd rather get up and feed in the night and he slept later as I already get up several times to check on him etc.

We are actually on our second nap of the day and it's 9.45 🤦‍♀️

Similar here, my girl wakes up 5.30-6am. I have the Huckleberry app, and that says to treat this as night wake. We aim for 7am wake up time, but not sure if that will ever happen. I think we just have an early waker. I don’t want to scare you, but I have many friends with babies and toddlers and they all wake up very early in the morning. Even at age 6-7 years. The thing is, babies this age need about 14 hrs sleep in a 24 hrs period. My little one sleeps 3.5-4 hrs during the day, across 3 naps, and her bedtime is anytime between 7-8pm (depends on her nap times). At night she sleeps 9-10 hrs, waking once for food. So if she goes to bed let’s say at 7am, sleeps 10 hrs, and awake for the food for about 30-40mins, then it make sense why she wakes up early… she just had enough sleep.🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not sure if moving her bedtime would help, but for us I think it’s impossible as she’s just VERY tired by 7-7.30pm. Oh and there are babies who just don’t require much sleep!🙈

I have to add, my girl used to sleep till 7am.

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
