Toddler still doesn’t get colours right

My 2 year 4 month old is the same, it’s normal, nothing to worry about x

Hi Anon, my 2.5 year old was the same, it’s nothing to worry about. They are still developing, maybe try flash cards. My boy enjoys those. It will just happen like a switch of a button.

My boy wasn’t even speaking or making much sense at 2. I was worried as his sister was a chatter box from 12months. Now his speaking loads, and putting words in to sentences. Just have to be patient.

Mine will learn a colour and be really confident with it, and the next month it’ll be back to being called ‘blue’ or something 😅. We do colour-sorting/matching exercises so I know she can see the differences, it’s just using the names that can be an issue

My little girl has only recently started getting colours kinda right, but she was like this until recently. What I’ve done differently is use flash cards regularly. Every time we’re out walking, we point to cars and say the colour of each one that parked on the street. Anything she looks interested in, I say what the item is and also ask her or correct her on what colour it is. I find it’s really helping and she’s starting to get it now x

Hey I work in a nursery in the 2-3 years room! I see this all the time, blue and green look similar to children, so don't worry that they are getting it wrong, if you find yourself saying 'no it's Green' when they get it wrong, just say 'green' and they will usually copy you.
It's just about repeating things for them to take it in.

My son just turned 2 and for him everything is blue. Also I say the colours in Italian and his dad in English… will take time, keep repeating😜
