Hey so my 2.5 year old has poop but it’s mushy and I want to start potty training him as it’s too much for me now. He doesn’t have normal stools that he’s supposed to have. He eats enough fruit and veg, drinks plenty of water and I’ve cut out sugary drinks. What else can I do to help make his poop normal so it doesn’t go on my floor.

My toddler is similar, we have been trialling a diary free diet to see if it makes a difference. So far, it hasn't, so we will be trying a gluten free diet shortly.

I did all of this still doing it and nothing even took him to the doctors for allergy tests and they all came back clear. It’s annoying me because he’s getting lazy and I just gave birth to my 3rd and don’t exactly want to keep buying nappies for a nearly 3 year old

If my son had too much fruit, mainly berries, his poo will be softer than usual

I have this issue with my daughter. When she was a baby we tried the dairy and gluten free routes which didn’t help. We now think it has to do with the amount of sugar she eats, including fruit. She used to eat a lot of fruit and if she has too much it shows in her nappy 🥴

My son has mushy poo, but when he goes on the potty, it's not mushy. I think it get squished.

I was going to say the exact same thing as Jade. My daughter has been potty training for a week and her 💩 is so much different on the potty vs nappy.
If it’s leaking, as u said about ur floor, try a size up nappy or a different brand

I think that the nappies mess up the poo and make the poo look worse than it actually is!
My daughter bypassed the potty and just uses the toilet now and it just looks like a regular poop! I wouldn’t worry to much x
