MIL says I'm big already!

Yesterday was the first time I'd seen my MIL where you could actually see my bump and she said "wow your bump is really big already" and gave me this sort of wide-eyed scared look as if to say she's worried about how big I will get. I reminded her that I am 18 weeks, so yeah I'm gonna have a bump, but I really didn't think I was big at all before that (actually thought I had quite a small bump), now I'm a bit paranoid that I'm gonna end up really big šŸ™ˆšŸ˜… photo was at 17 weeks.

You are beautiful! Hopefully your MiL said this in a loving way but you are absolutely normal for 17 weeks. A smaller or bigger bump is normal as well - your body experiences pregnancy and growing in its own way. If she makes you feel uncomfortable tell her as she might not be realising the effect her comments have. Or ask your partner to advocate for you and make sure she is more sensitive about her language throughout your pregnancy.

That is a gorgeous and very normal-sized bump. Also, I LOVE your dress. šŸ˜

You look great. Everyone shows differently. I think I would have been petty and said something that implied that at least my bump was a baby.

thats because back in her day they didn't gain any weight and they thought that was a good thing...which by the way, it is not. you are beautiful šŸ˜ don't allow those comments to change how you feel about your body. your baby is growing healthy and strong and that is all that matters.

Oh honey. You are definitely not big.... I was ginormous at 18 weeks. Yours is perfect!

I wouldn’t worry too much, I doubt is was coming from a negative place. She’s probably just shocked because me and most other people I’ve seen don’t really show at 18 weeks, so maybe that’s the case for her. I’d be happy you have a bump! I was so upset through my whole first pregnancy that I had no cute bump to hold šŸ˜…

You look so good! I hope I look as good as you. I’m 11 weeks šŸ„¹šŸ¤

girl you look amazing , i was about the same at around that time , i got mixed responses that i was big and that i was small , everyone’s different , im 4’11 and my boyfriend is 5’11 so for me my son was big but he was only 6 pounds 9 ounces and 20 inches long , i hate that the older generation thinks we need to be 90 pounds with a tiny waist to be beautiful , times have changed and beauty has a different meaning now , not to mention they don’t have room to talk bc to us they aren’t all that beautiful either šŸ˜‚ they love to throw in our faces ā€˜i was 80 pounds when i got pregnant’ well now look at you betty , diabetes , hair loss && you’re about 20 pounds overweight

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way šŸ˜‚ arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
