Wythenshawe visit

Anyone who’s given birth at Wythenshawe hospital - do you go in to look around the birth centre at all before giving birth?

Just wondered if this is a thing or if you literally just go on the day haha

There is a video tour on YouTube, if you go on the antenatal flyer from MFT it has video tours of all the hospital birthing units x

Im 30 weeks and I ok give birth in Wythenshawe too. I don’t think they show you around before giving birth but I found the video somewhere with a tour of the maternity ward and where you ll give birth 😉

Sadly no but as Hannah said there's a YouTube tour x

I gave birth at Wythenshawe 3 weeks ago and just watched the video on YouTube beforehand. Really lovely rooms; very private and they have most of what you need.

I highly recommend checking out the parking and entrance beforehand. We struggled to find the right door and buzzer at 5am when my waters broke and we headed to triage!

Gave birth on Saturday at wythenshawe at the birth centre and as everyone said above we just watched the video beforehand- it’s amazing in there though, lights were dimmed and bath was running once I got in there and it was like a spa experience lol! Fab midwives too xx

I gave birth there in March but couldn’t visit beforehand - the birth centre is absolute beautiful though!x

I’ve heard they only have 5 rooms in the birthing centre - does anyone know what happens if they’re all full?

my midwife told me you just go on the normal labour ward which is just across the hall x

I had my little girl on the labour ward (waters broke early) and there’s one room with a pool there too! They can bring whatever you need to labour ward, I had a birthing ball and the midwives were amazing xx

yes we had this too! Had to call them in the end to tell us the right door 😂

If you ask they will show you a room if it’s empty :)

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
