Hey, my little one is 5.5 months and we've been practicing sitting in the hope he will be ready for BLW at 6months (will wait for the ready signs even if we are past 6 months). The pressure sitting puts on his stomach makes him spit up basically every time we practice. I've looked it up and it's because of the new position so it is normal for some babies. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Did weaning help ease it or should I wait until he stops doing this. I tried to ask my HV but her response was it will get better with age (obviously) and don't wean until he's 6 months old (I hadn't planned to, my question is, is it ok to wean if he's ready otherwise and still doing this). Thank you!

Sorry I don’t have any advice but that’s so interesting as my almost 5 month old has just started spitting up a lot and she never used to. I wonder if it’s because we have been sitting her up more!

Yeh it could be! It's not loads or bothering him but just makes me wonder if this will cause issues weaning and if I should wait until it eases x

My babe has bad reflux but he's always been very extra dribbley when on his tummy time now were practising sitting up he does spit up or if shortly after food can be sick, I take it as cos its extra pressure on his belly in positions he's not used too xxx

it does make sense! Thank you. Hopefully will ease quickly for them both x
