@Jessica thank you x
I had the same problem with my 8 week old! I didn’t bother using the calpol plug in as it’s advised for 3m +. However, have you tried the calpol saline spray (safe from birth) and I used the Frida baby snot sucker along side sometimes to help clear her nose. They worked wonders and she’s starting to be a lot better and not as congested! x
My little one is 4 weeks and has bronchiolitis also diagnosed last night with it too. He is so so snotty and congested and it’s making it difficult for him to breathe especially after feeds. I’ve put baby vapour rub in a bowl with kettle water in the room hopefully to give off fumes for him to breathe in. They also recommended smaller more frequent feeds but I’m struggling with that as he gets so grumpy and cries if I stop his feed which then gets him more worked up!!! We have the frida snot sucker (very gross not for everyone) and the sterimar breathe easy baby saline drops! Both good temporary fixes for the congestion! xxxx
Snufflebabe vapour oil can be used from birth so that may help ☺️ warm water in a pot and put some drops in, leave near to where baby sleeps. It’s basically olbas oil but a lot gentler on baby ☺️
@Danyelle oh amazing, I’ll get some of the spray, I haven’t heard of that! Thank you so much xx
@Katie oh bless him, it’s heartbreaking! The coughs are so horrible. I’m finding that with feeds too, he’s coughing during them and ends up bringing it up as he’s coughing so much too.. I will try the shorter feeds but like yours, he hates being stopped early 🙈 I will try the baby vapour rub too as anything to help reduce it! Thank you so much xx
@Harriet amazing thank you so much, I will give it a go! Xx
In actually went to the GP and they said as long as it’s plugged in the other side of the room it’s absolutely fine and so did my health visitor. We used it and it’s been amazing! X
When my little girl suffered id bring her in the bathroom with me while i had a hot shower she would happily lay in her little chair and the steam from the shower would help clear her nose and chest x
@Sara oh really? That’s good to know, I may try it! X
@Julie-Ann that’s a good idea, I will give that a go this evening xx
Yes and i mentioned it to the doctor and they said its okay to do just let the room get nice and steamy and then id use the little sucker if she had anything to remove from her nostrils x
I had a look on the calpol website as I wondered the same thing and they are for babies 3+ months so I wouldn’t use one until then x
