Hi sorry for the long post I’m really struggling with anxiety, my little boy is 9 weeks tomorrow I absolutely adore him (3rd baby) I no it’s not depression because I don’t feel depressed however due to circumstances I have to go back to work on the 20th November he will only be 11weeks and unfortunately we are having to put him in nursery, I have very intrusive thoughts of things that could happen when I’m not there it’s terrifying me I no I need to go to the doctors but I’m worried they may think its depression

There is something called postnatal anxiety it is common but I dont think many are diagnosed with it as its seen as 'normal' to feel this way with a baby. But if it's persistent and affecting your day to day life then I would suggest going to the doctor
Many people also develop OCD during this time which is normal.
However it is very common to worry about your baby going to nursery but you are most likely worried as you maybe feel you are ready to go back to its magnifying everything. I hope you are okay, take it one day at a time.
I am sure you are aware of all I've said as you have said you already have a baby so I hope I do not come across as patronising as I am a first time mum! But sometimes it's good to have someone else to validate your feelings and say it's normal!
thank you I don’t think you are patronising at all, I am struggling daily with it and zone out a lot I feel like I am “bubble wrapping” I prefer for him to be on me when he naps during the day so I no he’s okay which sounds ridiculous because I no he’s fine and struggle getting anything done because I want to be with him xxx

I don't think they would think it's depression.. More anxiety but I think it's really valid and normal what you're feeling because he's still so little and it's your instinct to protect him. Maybe you'll feel it gets easier once he actually starts daycare but it might be worth talking to your gp. Oh and the intrusive thoughts are awful! I have them daily just leaving the house but I feel like it's really common so you're definitely not alone x
