so my little girl is a month old on tuesday, i am starting to get some sort of a routine planned out for us both as i know routines are always good to try and start early:)
she sleeps really well through the night only waking up twice for a bottle-
during the day i do everything i can with her when she has wake windows, read her books, sing to her, let her follow me all the things that are good for brain development-
when she goes down for a nap which is usually wuickily and easily i get everything i need sorted
i’ve noticed that her last bottle before bed i dim the lights no noise and feed her to kind of get her into the idea ok it’s bedtime- but this feed between 9-10pm she wakes up MASSIVELY!!! i’ve tried all sorts to settle her but she will not settle untill about 12-1am
is there anything i can do to get her bedtime down to about 9-10pm where she falls to sleep then rather than have a huge wake window-
any advice is greatly appreciated
(baths also wake her up so a bath routine is not possible)

I also quickly started my baby on a schedule and it was a lifesaver. This website was amazing!

I looked through and here’s the specific one I started with (it’s long! But a good read) 😊

A bath May wake her up but also tire her out? My LG is 7 months now and she loves playing in the bath - always has. I have light up toys and fidget spinner and music playing. But she’s always asleep 20 minutes after it. I think it exhausts her enough to go to sleep. So don’t rule it out.

Singing to her during that last feed, or putting on music she likes may help. Also worth extending that post feed cuddle a little. You can have fun with making bed time special for her.

Very true
I used the schedule as more of a guide to measure wake windows and how to feed around that. And it would feel like we had something going just for her to hit a growth spurt and you just gotta roll with it 😄
But it’s nice to have some sense of routine. Stay flexible, listen to the cues

Sounds like an amazing baby!

my baby was like this and the bath also woke her up, my suggestion is just start bedtime a little earlier, we used to do it around 10pm and had the same problem but now we do bath feed bed at 7pm so even if she is a little awake after her bath she goes down way before we are ready to go to bed! honestly though at little ones age you have to go by them routines are hard for tiny babies, if they are staying awake to long do it a bit earlier so they will at least be asleep by the time you need to be! hope everything goes well x

Your little girl sounds like such a good baby 💕 Don’t get disheartened if after reading these guides and websites she still doesn’t settle into a routine and go to bed as you plan! She is still so young and it’s rare to find a baby who goes to bed and sleeps through at this age. Usually a newborn with confuse day and night as well and suddenly be lively and wide awake during the early hours!! I have 3 children and none of them had a set routine until about 6 months. When she is a little older things will settle and you’ll find your hard work and perseverance will pay off but it’s too early now I would say. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job btw! Xx

What’s worked for me is bringing her bedtime forward. Her last nap of the day I try not to let her go over 45 minutes. Then 7-8 she is bathed (yes it “wakes” her up but it also signals a bedtime. Some days it’s a full bath and others it’s a too and tail with a wet cloth) massage, feed, story and then bed.
Now here’s the kicker. BEFORE she wakes for the next feed I dream feed her. That was a game changer for me!
Once she hit 2 months I brought her bedtime forward so she is now usually asleep by 715. She is dream fed around 1030 and usually sleeps all the way through to 3am for a feed .

Also this is my only schedule I have. And it’s flexible. Some days she may sleep earlier depending on how the day went and sometimes we go out and she sleeps later. But that routine is always the same. Now I’m starting to add in a daily wake time so bedtime and wake time are the same and wake windows will dictate the rest of the day 😊

can i just say thankyou to each and every one of you! i wish i could answer everyone’s comments seperately!
the advice is amazing- and i’m finding her so easy i always thought the routine should start from now or she will never get one🥲😂 so i’m glad people have cleared up that this is not the case!!
thankyou to those who have said how beautiful she is! i am honestly so smittened over her! she is super content and i cant fault her in anyway!!
and to those who are telling me i’m doing a good job just imagine me giving you a big hug!! i’ve been super low recently feeling like i’ve not been doing enough for her so those words mean more to me than i could ever explain❤️❤️❤️

Maybe try giving her a massage. Help relax her body

She’s beautiful 💗enjoy the wake window with big snuggles 🥰
