Hey ladies, my baby is a month old and I want to start introducing a bottle a day of my breast milk but I'm wondering when's the best time/ how should I approach pumping? Should I be doing it as an extra 'feeding' session during the day at first or pump 1 boob whilst feeding the other as she doesn't always need both...just want to keep my supply stable 😊

I feed one breast then pump both right after breastfeeding, then 2 hours later feed another breast and pump both afterwards

I started of pumping at the end of a feed in the day when she didn't take very much, collect it through the day (I sometimes wouldn't get very much) and then give her the bottle in the evening. Once I was getting enough to give her a full feed at night my partner gives the bottle and I pump a full feed and put it in the fridge for the next day. If I give a full bottle feed I have to pump anyway as my breasts are so swollen if I don't! We give the bottle as the last feed. We had planned on doing it as the 3am feedto give me a chance to rest, but the faff of pumping in the middle of the night was worse than breast feeding!

Hi so we do one expressed milk bottle a day usually at same time before bed and we pace feed it and it's given by his dad. In terms of pumping I get more at night and I think most people do so I pump one side whilst they feed of the other. Alot of the time in the day I forget to pump even though I have a hands free pump as I have a toddler as well but you can pump alternative side (just be careful pumping before six weeks as can create over supply was never an issue for me but can be). Also you could just pump at same time as there having a bottle too. Hope that makes sense.
