Pumping

Is there anyone that exclusively Breastfeeds but doesn’t pump? I’m 5 weeks pp and ebf, I’ve attempted pumping a couple times but I am just not getting on with it at all, I’m really struggling to find the time, my baby is colic so needs my constant attention, every time I’ve gone to do it he’s needed me and I’ve had to stop. I feel like it’s just another thing I have to remember to do and find time for, Im a single mum and barely have time to shower let alone sit down for 30 mins and pump. People say do it in the night but my baby doesn’t sleep great at the moment and is up alot so every minute I can actually sleep is so precious, I am so sleep deprived as it is! Breastfeeding means so much to me and i love it and I’m petrified of my supply decreasing if I don’t pump but I’m really struggling with it. Obviously eventually I will need to have a little stash as I’m sure that there will be times I need someone to look after him or something. But how important is pumping or any advice I’m so stressed!

Just to add I’m in no financial position to buy a wearable pump yet.. I spent enough on the electric pump I have 😭

I pump but I don’t know many other mums who do! You don’t need to, especially at 5 weeks! The best way to establish your supply is by nursing your baby. You can add pumping to the mix later if you want, but if it’s stressing you out now then let it go! Don’t put that pressure on yourself x

I don’t pump but ebf :). You don’t need to pump, if you responsive feed then you should no issues in supply.

Mad respect for you doing it alone! Breastfeeding/ staying up with a newborn are 2 of the hardest things I think I've ever fine, cut yourself some slack and sack off the pump for a bit...I've been exclusively breastfeeding too, I want to introduce a bottle but like you say, it's hard to find time (my baby is 1 month)...

If you are feeding regularly and you get to a point when you want someone to support you so you can get some rest/ have a break, one bottle of formula isn't going to be the end of the world 😊

I'm EBF and basically never pump. I have a hakaa (they're super cheap), and if I need to leave baby with my husband for a couple of hours the next day ill use that overnight while baby feeds from the other side. But that's once in a blue moon. There's no reason your supply would decrease if you are feeding your baby regularly.

I ebf and don't pump. Pumped a little with my first but it's not for me. By the time he went to nursery he only needed a couple of milk feeds a day and I'd pump them the day before. Never needed and never had a stash

My son was born at 32 weeks so I had to pump or my supply would tank and unfortunately for me that’s what happened some people are okay without pumping others have to because baby can’t empty them out enough that was my issue I over produced at the start

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

Is this a normal poo?

Apologies for picture included. 1 year old has had a funny tummy since Friday not watery diarrhoea but very explosive and paste like poo and he’s not being eating as much but been drinking his milk and water normally! Today we had this poo though and it seemed a very chalk like consistency and very pale. Just asking for thoughts and advice really. He did also have lots of cream on his bum.
