How I’m working on breaking co-sleep habits.

My baby’s is 5 months old, she sleeps great but I don’t because I’m constantly waking up to check on her she sleeps with us in our bed. So I’ve had some success recently on breaking her not sleeping in the bassinet. Hopefully this will help other families. I’ve a chair next to the bassinet, I will feed my baby and rock her besides the bassinet. Once she is about to sleep I carefully move her to her bassinet. I’ll sit by the bassinet patting her leg, butt or let her hold onto my hand. If her eyes open up I’ll sit there and sing to her until she starts to drift off to sleep. It took several days but try this every nap time, and bed time. Soon baby will get used to the bassinet, and you not laying next to them. When trying to get them asleep lay them with a soft blanket, but once baby is sleeping. Use your stealthy Mom moves and gently remove said blanket. Hope this is helpful.

This is really great, thanks for sharing. Mine sleep while feeding, any solution for that? Did your baby cry when you try to make them sleep in the bassinet?

do my baby also falls asleep while feeding. Get them to the point where they’re eyes are close and kinda just using you or the bottle as a binkie that’s when you slowly transfer them. Head rested first then bottom and keep contact pat or just let them hold you. They may wake or start fussing just talk softly, sing and stay with them. Hence the chair because bending over or standing can be a lot on your back. Hope this helps. Songs I sing, abc’s, twinkle star, all the little ponies, and a few I made up. You can check out on TikTok.

awesome! I really appreciate your help.
I read A LOT, they always recommend to put baby in the crib drowsy but awake, but I don't know what to do when she falls asleep on the breast. I usually wait until she is done, but at this point she is sleeping already. Also, I give up when she starts fussing.

I wish I did this! I’m about to have a 2 year old and I live co-sleeping but it’s time to transition 😩

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!
