I just gave her potato with carrot, broccoli and nutmeg mixed with a bit of her formula.. the first couple days she wasnāt too interested but by the end of the week she loved it. We are giving her the same meal for a week then changing so she can get used to it and we can see if she develops any allegies x

I downloaded and used solid starts for guidance on how to cut and serve foods. It's recommended to start with veggies such as carrot and sweet potato but tbh you can start with what you feel comfortable with. On the beginning I started with purees then switched to baby led weaning because I was more confident and it was clear my LO would benefit from it. If also recommend doing a first aid course so you know what to do in case of choking.

There is a Facebook group called weaning the blw way and it is amazing !
Any questions /advice worries ect they answer and itās runs by women that know exactly what theyāre talking about since joining Iāve gained so much confidence!!!

thank youšš¾

I started with one vegetable at a time. Started with the green veg first and then moved on to carrots and parsnips etc. Then we moved onto to fruits.
They recommend one at a time to start with as it make it easier to rule out any allergies if your baby had a reaction.
I found that my son wanted to feed himself so chose to do baby led weaning. I would read up on traditional and baby led weaning to see which way you think would best suit you and your baby.
There are some helpful groups on Facebook for baby led if thatās the way you choose to go.

I tried to download it but then said I had to pay a subscription which I couldnāt be bothered to do but appreciate the adviceš

thank you Iāll have a look on there!šš¾

We started Calli on weetbix and formula, then Steamed carrot, pumpkin, broccoli, and potato mash.
Then we went to scrambled eggs, pasta meals, (:
If she didn't like the veggies, just mashed it with potato (:
Lamb cutlet or drumsticks were good for teething also (:

I didnāt read much on weaning because too much information can scare the hell out of you lol but I started my pickle with purĆ©ed fruits (smoothies really) and baby porridge, which he loved and still does! I did try BLW but it just felt weird, heās only ever had milk his whole life and now heās just meant to know what to do with a piece of banana š„“ after a couple of weeks of pureed fruits and veg I just started mashing it and made the texture of his porridge thicker and now Iām starting to introduce lunch or dinner (depending how my day goes) and again Iāve just mashed it all down.. and he just has whatever weāre having š

thank you!šš¾

yeah Iām not one to read so much on it because it will stress me out so just wanted to know to basics but itās like ahhh so much to knowš

There's a BLW group on here. I get a lot of good ideas on it and I don't even have my baby out of me yet haha

It truly depends on what you want to do. I said from the start I wasnāt doing fully BLW and I started doing a combination. She gets purĆ©es but sheās also had things like sticks of cucumber, broccoli etc x

Itās really depends on what you want, whether BLW, purĆ©e, mixture of both. As long as you do your reading on the big 9 allergens and how to introduce those the right way and safety, (a lot of babies are exposed to dairy via formula and few others), but itās so important to be aware of them. You can kinda do it how you want. Our daughter is just over 6m, we are doing majority BLW, and sheās having what we are eating, Iām not making anything extra, just our food, safe for her. So far sheās had, roast, chilli, pie, tray bake, steak, pasta, stir fry. No pressure from us, she basically just plays, puts a bit in her mouth, explores it, I think Iāve see her maybe swallow, like 5 things, sheās retched, gagged and is learning to bring food to the front of her mouth! She sits with us every meal time, and Iāve fed her, once/twice, with some yogurt, or if she asks for it by opening her mouth when I bring food near.āFood before one is just for funā! It doesnāt need to be complicated or expensive! š

I second the solid starts app suggestion. Starting at 6 months, i had baby sit down with me for every meal (3xs a day) and offered her foods. We did BLW from the get go but i also gave her purees and mashed foods that i offer to her on a preloaded spoon. I would eat the same foods and model eating, being really exaggerated about chewing, and talking about foods - but never pushy or forceful about eating. Some days she just played with the food, some days she ate a ton. Donāt sweat the amount they eat, just focus on offering a variety of foods and textures. Theyāll figure out how much they want to eat/nurse in their own time.

SO much info and mixed info on this topic, so my best advice is to do whatever makes you the most comfortable.
We started with purƩed apple, pear, sweet potato, pumpkin, then mixed in other things (like purƩed apple with mango, purƩed pumpkin with green beans, etc)
Theyāre more likely to take to sweeter flavours as breastmilk and formula are sweet. After all of that, my girlās fave foods are now broccoli, green beans, and tomato!
Start with really small amounts, and I would work in pear and/or prune as much as possible. Our girl was terribly constipated as soon as we started solids.

I started my daughter on purƩes at 6 months, then moved to regular soft foods around 7-8 months. I followed blw and did a lot of steamed vegetables and fruits, then moved to pasta and other foods. Remember, food around this age is to introduce them, but milk is still their primary nutritional source. I didn't pressure her into eating a lot and followed her lead with food. I'd recommend doing research on blw and downloading solid starts. It gives you a lot of information on what to feed them at what age.

We started with Apple and banana pure with BM and then we did sweet potato.
It took us maybe three days and now heās a food monster.

We went straight into normal food, no purees or anything. I didnāt think much of it, just gave him bits of whatever I was having. His first meal was chicken korma, rice and naan š

is the group just called BLW on here?

Thank you everyone I really appreciate all the advicešš¾š
