So baby’s hospital bag… this is my first time so I’m just not sure. Do I need to pack my own pre made formula bottles and nappies or does the hospital provide? Only unsure because I’ve seen some videos where it’s said to pack it and some that have not

Ah ok, I got some of those pre made little bottles just incase. What’s a sensible amount to take so you reckon? x

That’s great thanks ladies, appreciate it x

as a complete novice how many/much would be enough for a day? Nappies and food 😅 X

6 pre-made bottles is/should be enough for 24 hours. But double check the box 😊 I got Aptimal which says on the side so hopefully others will too.
Nappies can vary but babies don’t go through many nappies for the first couple of days. I’d pop a small pack of nappies in just in case

I recommend over packing. I took a full tub of formula in with my first even tho I planned on breast feeding. Also took a breast pump in but the hospital can provide breast pumps. I wound up in hospital for 3 days so over packing was great as I wound up using everything in the bag xx

The first starter packs is what I am planning to take. You can buy these in most shops? They come ready made with teats so no worry about sterilising in hospital. I plan to take a box in with me and leave a box in the car, just incase! x

My sister in law gave birth in August, in Glasgow. We were told not to bring nappies milk or hats

The midwife at the NCT class I attended discouraged mums from bringing formula (if needed the hospital will provide) or breast pumps. She said pumping is not recommended for mums who want to BF until lactation is properly established (and that can take up to 6 weeks). She only said to bring nappies and cotton wool/water wipes + babygrows and sleepsuits for baby.

i believe it depends on where you live. i would ask your OB and see if the hospital you’re delivering at provides those items.
the hospital i birthed at, provided everything.
also the first few days after having baby, they really don’t eat a a lot.

You need to pack you're own for both they used to provide them a long time ago but no longer do x

thank you!! X
