Mom Guilt… baby fell off bed

Baby fell off bed again. My 10 month old fell off the bed. This is the 2nd or 3rd time falling off the bed. I’m filled with so much guilt and im mostly scared he will suffer brain injury from this constant fall. He also falls on the floor when moving around sometines. I feel so guilty and scared. Im wondering if i should take him to the emergency room. I feel like such a bad mom.

If he cries right away he is more than likely okay. They say to watch out for odd behavior and vomiting for the next 12 hours. If you don’t notice anything they more then likely will just send you home after asking you those three questions. You can always call your pediatrician to schedule an emergency appointment or phone appointment. Trust your gut babies fall, bump heads, and hurt themselves all the time. You are doing amazing mom! You can buy a soft helmet for him, a large 50x50 play pen, or even bed rails to turn your bed into a play pen to help avoid this.

Maybe look into getting some bed rails for baby to put around bed so you wouldn’t have to worry about them falling off bed

My daughter fell off the bed last week because my husband never listens to me and left her alone for literally two seconds to throw the dirty diaper away in the ubbi 4 feet away. I panicked and rushed her to her pediatrician which is like 6 min from my house but he was very nonchalant about it and says that it happens. She cried right away and her pupils were the same size so he wasn’t worried but told me to look out for vomiting, seizures, anything abnormal. I have carpet though so the dr was more at ease about that

Get a bed rail! It’s a life saver. My baby fell off once maybe twice and we immediately went and got one. That and untill you can get one put as many pillows on the floor or get a foam mattress topper and put it there. The best thing to do is just floor sleep aka no bed frame.
