Formula Intake - How Much?

How much formula does your baby have? My boy is 10 weeks old and having 1050ml on average a day. I have been told by the doctor that it’s a lot but carry on giving him what he wants. However he’s now only going 1.5-2 hours between feeds and I think he wants another increase. He was previously going 3 hours with a 150ml/5oz bottle.

I breastfed my daughter so formula feeding baby number 2 is a new world for me!

My little girl is 8 weeks and she’s currently on 5/6oz and drinking every 3/4 hours but sometimes it can be 2 hours since the last bottle and she’ll want more x

They base how much formula to give your baby depending on their weight. My LO was born small but he is finally 8 pounds now and can have 3.5 ounces or so every 3-4 hours. When I was over feeding him he would vomit.

my 9 week old has just moved up to 6oz, she tends to go 2.5/3ish hours between feeds but can go longer, if she naps it can be 4 hours

Thanks everyone! He is a big boy 14lb at 10 weeks (born 5 weeks early so only 5 weeks corrected) but the doctors and health visitors seemed shocked by the amount he feeds. But going by what you’ve all said, seems quite average!

I’m doing 5oz every 3 hours but thinking of increasing to 6, my little one is 13lb 5

Increase the feed and increase the gap xx

My LO is almost 9 weeks and also taking 6oz bottles! She's only 9lbs. Born a month early as well at 36 weeks, 6lbs 6. Like you they seem a bit shocked when I tell them what she's eating but I've never forced her, she is super hungry and just wanted more all the time when I fed her 5oz bottles. Xx

My baby boy is 9 weeks old and is having 6 oz every 2-4 hours but still shows signs of hunger even 45 minutes after sometimes! He’s over 13 lbs at this point too 😂

I’ve been having this thinking process today lol. My little one is 9 weeks but was 5 weeks early and she’s always been a good feeder since day one, she usually has 3-4oz but falls asleep half way but I’m thinking that was partly due to teat size as I just gave her a night time bottle with 5.5oz in and a bigger test and she demolished the bottle 😅

yes!! We went onto size 2 mam teats at 4 weeks and definitely solved that issue of falling asleep and taking forever to finish a bottle

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Guilt

Does anyone else feel guilty for every little thing they do? I feel like I need to be entertaining my little one at all times. If I have to put her in the activity center to finish a task, instant guilt. In the car for too long, instant guilt. Replying to work emails instead of interacting with her, instant guilt. I know independent play is good for her but my brain thinks otherwise. Please tell me it gets better, I’d love to shower for more than 10 minutes without it feeling like the world is going to collapse.
