Scans

My Last scan was at 20 weeks, and my next one is at 36 weeks. Is this normal?
I’ve not had any scans in between but seeing many posts about growth scans on here.

You only usually get 2 on NHS so that's great that you've been offered a 3rd.

Yeah it’s normally the 12 week and 20 week on the NHS.

For some trusts, 3 is standard (like mine), others it’s just the 2.
If you’re having more, it’s usually because there’s a need to monitor baby.
They’ll check baby’s growth and presentation at your 36 week scan.

Regular growth scans are only needed if you are high-risk and consultant led. I have a scan every 2-3 weeks because I have a 10cm fibroid, so they need to ensure its not impacting babies growth. Otherwise, standard midwife led is just 12 and 20 weeks. Sometimes at 36 in some trusts :)

Same with me

Yea i have one at 36 weeks too, not everywhere does a third but some hospitals do

I had my third scan last week and a fourth due when I am 36 weeks. Am currently 33 +5. My last scan showed the baby is measuring small, so they told me that if in three weeks nothing changes, I will have to deliver her.

Yes that’s right it’s a growth scan at 36 weeks xx

I have had the same it's totally normal to have 3 scans , 12 wks 20wks and 35 wks some NHS trusts don't do 3 some do 3 only for your first providing your not high risk some only do 2.

Ive had 3 on NHS
1 at my 12 weeks
2 at my 20 weeks & the 3rd was at my 31 weeks due to having a growth scan due to my belly weighing big but baby is absolutely fine.

Mine does 3 as standard so they can check everything is the right way up before birth etc.

At mine we only get 2 initially but at my last midwife appointment got told it’s routine from this year to get an additional one at 32 weeks. More a growth scan to see baby how there growing etc

Am I making the right choice?

I have recently decided to go for an elective C-section.
If this was your last birth experience would you do the same? I know it’s an individual choice but I keep doubting myself but I just had such a bad time… 😞

It was a Vbac …. Ended with…

-episiotomy with forceps
-retained placenta
-2litres blood loss with transfusion.
-GBS positive (probably going to be positive again)
-since birth 4 years ago i have been having issues with bowel incontinence 🙈

Husband help

FTM
We have to have an early elective c section for medical reasons on Friday. My husband seems not to understand recovery at all, suggesting we have his brother's within the week and go out for dinner etc at 2 weeks as I should have 'recovered' by then. This seems too much to me, am I being unreasonable?

Questioning if I should be concerned

I had an etopic pregnancy last January which resulted in losing my right tube.

We just found out we were pregnant 2 weeks ago when I was 8dpo and since then, my line progression has done well. I ended up getting bloodwork done last week on Thursday which my hcg was 88 which I didn’t know until today after my ultrasound-

Today I am to be 5 weeks and 2 days well..

I had an ultrasound vaginal and stomach, I was told she couldn’t see anything and I was asking if we should be concerned. The nurse then told me what my hcg was on Thursday and said that it is very very early. I told her why we came early was to make sure we do not lose another tube. She said they wouldn’t see it until 6 plus weeks.

I just don’t know if I should be worried about her not seeing a gestational sac- nothing. And I was told to come back in 3 weeks.

Does my hcg of being 88 truly mean I am earlier then what I had thought.

Just looking for some comfort please, I don’t want to go through waves of feeling like everything is going to be alright and then crashing.

My line progression and flo dates I apparently ovulated on the 3rd of March

Should I be concerned. I am thinking to get more labs done to see what my hcg has went up to and hopefully they can tell me if it’s good or not.

Getting to hospital

We live in Fulham, London and don’t have a car. Wondering about if I go into labour how to get to the hospital 😆 Also don’t have any friends and family who live nearby who’s car we could borrow. How do we get baby back home? Random things to think about 🤔
