Hi everyone, anyone has inverted nipples and any suggestions whether I should go see a doctor etc ? I’m a bit concerned now that I’m in my first trimester, never thought it could be an issue but now that I’m pregnant it got me thinking. Thank you for any comments/suggestions

If you can, link in with a local breastfeeding group where there are breastfeeding counsellors to support and advise (Cuidiu, La Leche League). You don’t need to see a GP. Also, your nipples are going to grow and adapt to hormonal changes throughout the pregnancy and once the baby is born. So I would say, don’t let it become an issue for you because you can still breastfeed when your baby arrives. Just find your local support group now (Cuidiu even have online meetings) and get the best advice and information in advance - then when the baby comes, they will be at hand for any concerns you might have. The counselling is free, and the in person groups only ask for a donation of €3 as it’s a charity organisation. Best of luck! 💪✨

I’m currently coming into my 3rd trimester and can say that your nipples are going to change. I just purchased these from Amazon as recommended in a breastfeeding class and I believe you can request to speak with the tactician consultant at the hospital after birth. I am a little nervous but I think the thing is not to put pressure on yourself as you never know what is going to happen. We may just have to work a little harder :)

Does your nipple ever come out at all? There are different types of inverted nipples. One of my nipples was inverted, but came out sometimes without difficulty. When I started breastfeeding it was a bit of an issue because it was way harder for my baby to attach. The rugby hold helped with the attachment on that breast. I also used a latch assist to help (like this one: https://lloydspharmacy.ie/products/lansinoh-latch-assist?variant=41460442202277¤cy=EUR&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3uGqBhDdARIsAFeJ5r3Ul381zYXsMP37dJ4FOYI5Q9XC69Tt-5RHrxSyhWgnCvmR7XhbU60aAt9fEALw_wcB).
After a couple of weeks breastfeeding the nipple stayed fully out and didn’t need the assist anymore.
