What would you do….

I’m 4 days over my due date. I didn’t want an induction…. But I have NO signs of labor at all. We just moved to a state with no friends or family and my mom is only here to help watch my toddler for two more weeks (until 42 weeks) She’s already been here three weeks waiting because I had my first baby early so I thought for sure I’d have this one early 🥲

My question is…. I could drink the ‘midwife brew’ castor oil mix juice crap that my midwife suggested and said has an 85% chance of sending me into labor….. so that my mom will be here to help. Or I could wait til he either comes naturally or I get induced at 42 weeks and she leaves. Half of me wants to wait til baby and my body are ready but I also want him out now 🥲 ALSO baby is 9pounds currently dilated less than 2cm

Oh girl I’m so sorry. 9 pounds is a big baby! Especially to not even be a 2. I’m inbetween a 2&3 and my body is being stubborn about contractions! I’m terrified of the brew itself because of the castor oil but I’m becoming desperate to get this baby out too. Luckily they are going to induce me at 39 weeks if he hasn’t came on his own

I wouldn’t do the brew because it does not work, but I’d try everything else under the sun. Go get a membrane sweep. Every practice usually has one nurse or midwife who is the sweep queen where it’ll hurt like hell but actually start things, like the difference between a normal sweep and absolutely murdering your cervix. And I’d do hand expression.

I have a total sweep Friday hand expression hasn’t done anything for me yet. My biggest struggle has been I get so close to being able to go I. And then I’m exhausted and I lay down and everything stops

I hear you, I’m in my second round of regular contractions. I had prodromal labor Sunday-Thursday, contractions every 15 minutes Saturday night-Sunday night, and now this afternoon. With my son it was 20 hours from first contraction to baby being born so I was not prepared for it to be like this. Currently having contractions every 20. Hand expression takes 3 full days to work in the literature, I’m on day 4.

Yeah it’s been horrible. It’s been on and off like this for a month or more. I’m so over it. Just ready to get this baby out

That’s tough & I’m sorry I don’t have any advice to give😞 what I will say is they are not usually accurate with providing the weight of baby! Personally, I would not let their estimate scare you. They are incorrect more often than not. A family member of mine was recently pushed into an induction and then a c-section because they claimed the baby was 9 pounds some ounces, and she came out weighing 6 pounds!

dang that’s a big difference! I definitely know he’s a big boy so it doesn’t surprise me at all that he is measuring this big already TBH.

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

C section compression socks

Hey ladies when did you ditch the compression socks and how mobile were you when you did? I’m so done with them! 6 weeks tomorrow since the op and im walking around the house doing jobs and baby care but not really out and about yet (the odd day I am) is it safe to ditch the socks?

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?
