SO Worried About Nausea/Vomiting During Labor

I’m due literally any day, and yesterday and today my body suddenly decided to no longer be insanely constipated anymore. I know that’s pretty common right before going into labor, so it’s suddenly feeling VERY real and imminent, and my anxiety is now through the roof. I’m so excited to meet our son, our first baby, but the anxiety of such a seemingly small and normal symptom is stealing so much of my joy, it’s awful. One of my friends just gave birth this past weekend and has some leftover zofran she’s going to give me so hopefully I can stay ahead of the game and have a little peace of mind. Any advice?? I know not everyone experiences these symptoms during labor and birth, my mom didn’t. And I have mostly been able to avoid nausea during my pregnancy, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign, but I’m still so anxious!! HELP!!!
PS. 8K rendering of my son’s 4D ultrasound for your viewing pleasure. I can’t wait to see him!!

Well good news for you most of pregnancy & labour/delivery is hereditary so if your mom wasn’t sick you’re probably safe! I personally was nauseous all 38 weeks of my pregnancy but didn’t feel sick once during labour. I was originally worried about it too but it didn’t really cross my mind in the moment and I was 100% fine. I even ate while I was in labour too

I was induced and while they had the balloon in I was nauseous and throwing up but the minute it came out I felt much better

So I don’t know if it’s too late for you now, but could you opt for a c section? I was terrified if any sickness etc during labour so I opted for a c section with a high dose of anti emetics ! This was all done around 30 weeks though and booked for 39 weeks but as I am emetaphobic I can’t deal with it at all but the c section and recovery were a breeze. I was frightened of going into natural labour and having these symptoms. X

When I arrived at my hospital to give birth to my daughter I told them I was really anxious and phobic about being sick and asked them for an anti emetic and they gave me one immediately. They then gave me a different one when I was given pethidine for the pain.

I had the same fear and everyone kept saying "oh you definitely will" which didn't help 🙄 Unfortunately they were right. My nurse told me if you feel like you're about to throw up, to smell rubbing alcohol and it usually stops it. Also be so vocal with your anesthesiologist. The IV anti-nausea meds work SO fast. Just remember if it happens, it'll be the quickest part of the day and at the end you'll get to snuggle your little bean!! Wishing you the best of luck!

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏
