Fridge in baby room

Im in two minds about this. I feel like it make sense but at the same time who knows.

I'm wondering if I can/ should put a fridge in the babies room with the bottle warmer like a mini feeding station. That way I can top it up and daddy can always just grab milk for helping with night feeds... Plus I can store my water, juice, snacks in there lol

I'm wanting to breastfeed and express so that my dude can feed the baby when he comes. Also im a naturally shy and awkward person so I wouldn't want to breastfeed when we have visitors especially if the visitors are males. I don't want to have to take the baby away from them ever time he needs to feed especially if its babies God father. Also I have fibromyalgia so God forbid I'd be in too much pain to go down the stairs to the kitchen fridge then back up the stairs to babies room or be in too mich pain to hold the baby to feed him.

What are your thoughts on a fridge in the Nursery (babies room)?

It seems like a logical idea my only concern would be if the fridge stays cool enough to be safe? I'm assuming if you got a decent one it would be okay though 🙂 X

Sounds like you have a good plan that works for your comfort level.

That makes sense. I've been thinking about doing that if we have a second, it would.have been handy when lo was tiny

Although I breastfed I do have a mini fridge in our bedroom where I keep expressed milk that I’ve pumped overnight

Avatar

I did that with my first, managed to breastfeed better with my second so not necessary this time, but it was so easy in the night, I'd take what milk I needed and top up the bottle warmer,

Avatar

I would 100% do it myself if my kitchen wasn’t so close to both my my room and the babies room

Avatar

That’s what we are planning! We’ve got dogs and I don’t want to disturb them but going down multiple times in the middle of the night, plus I want to make it easier for ourselves!

I keep a mini fridge in my bedroom along with a bottle warmer. We roomshare so with this I never have to leave my room to feed. I also keep diapers and change him on my bed how that he's older and *usually* not pooping overnight

I got a little make up fridge https://amzn.eu/d/eviT898
I used to pump 2-3 times a night and it was a lifesaver to just pop the bottle in the fridge. I now use it for her formula bottles. And hoping afterwards I can just use it for my makeup in the summer 😁

I did not breastfeed, but I did exclusively pump. I had a cosmetic fridge on my nightstand, while we had the baby in the bassinet, and it was great. Baby would cry, I’d get a bottle and put it in baby’s mouth. He’d drink his fill and go back to sleep. I also didn’t warm up the milk, my son drank cold breastmilk. I moved the fridge to his room and continued to use it for his milk.

We had a mini fridge in our room and it was a life saver!

You’re able to use the mini fridge like you would a cooler bag! It’s good for 24 hours! Just make sure you move to big fridge asap so it gets cool enough :) I use a cosmetic fridge in my bedroom and transfer in the morning!

Avatar

no hun it would be an actual fridge not a cooler

I’m just saying to the people who don’t think you can use a mini fridge you actually can. Breast milk needs to be stored at 40 degrees F. Not all mini fridges get that cold. IN THE CASE that a mini fridge doesn’t get as cold as 40 degrees you’re able to use it the same way you’d use a cooler bag for breast milk which is 24 hours.

Avatar

Also just because your mini fridge says it gets cold enough when I tested mine with a thermometer it actually didn’t. So I typically just transfer in the morning to be better safe than sorry ☺️ I only need it for overnight anyways. I store all my breast milk in the back of my main fridge

Avatar

ahh im definitely going to put a thermometer in the fridge now. Thanks for the heads up

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

Bottle refusal

EBF and deciding I want a bit more flexibility so wanted to introduce a bottle so I can go out more.

She used to take one three months ago. Now she flat out refuses and cries - doesn’t matter if it’s expressed breastmilk or formula. Tried it in a sippy cup as well. What can I do?

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ‘girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts
