I found using a good nap routine worked well for us. Close curtains/ put in sleep bag/ play same playlist every time. After a a week or so it became easier and easier for her to fall asleep and transfer her.

We always fed to sleep but he's an absolute lump now and I can't transfer him as easily so we switched. We do the same routine as bedtime but without the bath (bottle, sleep bag, book, white noise) and lie him down. We did ferber so left him for 2 mins, then 4 mins etc. The first 2 days were a tough but after that he doesn't even cry now just rolled over and goes to sleep

We have. First we moved feeds to when she wakes up to break association with sleep. Then did ferber method so she could learn to sleep on her own. It takes time, be patient and consistent

do you have any info you used on the Ferber method please? I know I can google which I have but just like to read what people are looking at 🙏

I’ve just moved from contact naps but still feed to sleep. I do same post bath routine from the evening - close curtains, white noise, change, sleeping bag, bottle, and then put her in cot. Goes down for about 2 hours. I’d love to try Ferber method or something but I have another 3 year old who gets shouty if he is left too long and I’m on my own 13 hours a day so now isn’t the time! Maybe when he starts preschool in January I can look into it more x

so when I try to put her down after a feed for a nap she wakes up but of a night time she goes down fine. Even if I do the sleep bag, blind, noise machine etc it’s like it’s just not a deep enough sleep. Do you think it’s just cause she’s used to contact naps?

My daughter wakes up sometimes too. I end up just sitting with her and rocking her. Usually gets her down. I keep doing it until she drops off

maybe I need to persevere more then 🙏

We've recently moved from all contact naps to all cot naps, but still Feed to sleep and then transfer him to his cot. It took about 2 weeks of consistently making sure every nap he was transferred to his cot, but if he woke I would try and resettle or we would just end thr nap short. He now naps happily in there x

that’s my worry of her not going back to sleep and then not having enough sleep overall but I think I just need to try

Keep persevering ! Good luck!

My little girl had all her naps on me which I loved but we recently moved her to napping in her cot and she sleeps for so much longer! We do bottle, sleep bag, blinds shut and white noise so similar to bedtime and she goes down really well. It actually went so much better than I thought because prior to this she would only nap on me, I think it was just the right time for her to nap on her own, I don’t think it would have gone so well if she was a lot younger. I just think she was ready.

@Sarah we do have days still where he doesn't nap long enough, I just try and go with it and adapt the routine where possible, vut he is getting alot getter now and napping for longer

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?
