Why do kids act out more when they’re sick?

Like my 5 year old has been sick with a cold for some days and I’m aiding her and I know she’s felt bad so I’ve been also loving on her of course, but she’s been a jerk! Doing things on purpose and tearing things up and just doing a lot and I’m like what in the heck is happening? Can someone please explain this to me..because I’m very lost. 🧐🧐🧐

My daughter is total opposite when she’s sick, she’s more of a sweetheart, patient, and quiet. HOWEVER when she’s tired or hungry, it’s a different story. So I believe it’s because the child’s need aren’t being met, and ur daughter being sick is her being annoyed and not loving the way she feels when she’s sick; her needs aren’t being met as in she wants to feel better and back to her normal self

We are usually more short tempered or emotional when we are sick. Kids are the same way, but they tend to act more physically than adults.

@Dai Hmm I suppose, as I am always taking care and aiding and bedding at her every need and loving on her. I presume you are speaking as in her needs not being met by her physical needs of her body because it is being attacked by little antibodies, germs, and bacteria at the moment. Then yes, I agree but the behavior is just a little bit more outrageous as in ( mild confusion, and delirious ). I’ve done my research to see that sickness at times caused this confusion and delirious nature, but my husband and I are the best care takers. But I 100% agree with that her needs are not being met at the moment due to the cold and sickness in her body she’s feeling, that could very well be it!

@Dara I can see that, she’s definitely more physical than emotional when she’s sick.

@𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂 🌺🌻 yes that is exactly what I mean, hope she feels better soon momma!

When we as adults are sick we get cranky too It's no different for children they just have less lack of control than we do as adults. It's par for the course.

@Dai Thank you so much! I hope she does too.

@Jen Lee 🌬️🍃 Thank you for that information because I just thought maybe it was a bit more to the story because she’s never acted this way, it’s just a bit different when your little ones start to change prior to what you originally seen lol
