In my scan they said that's the estimated weight for my baby and I am a bit worried? I'm quite petite and I know it's just an estimation, but I'm still a bit worried.
Did anyone have the same?
Does that put me in more risk for tears or complications in birth?

I’m 5 3 and on my growth chart on track for an 8lb something baby. Doesn’t necessarily put you at higher risk of complications. I had a friend similar height to me have a 10lb baby. Scan are only estimates aswell

Remember the scans aren’t always accurate. Also, your body is very clever and will usually only grow a baby you are able to birth naturally. But if you’re worried, discuss it with your midwife 😌

My mum is 5ft and she had three babies that were over 8lbs and they were all really straightforward deliveries. A big baby doesn’t necessarily mean it will be difficult, it’s more about babies position. So focus on sitting in upright, forward leaning positions, use your birth ball and stay mobile. If you’re worried about tearing maybe try some perineal massage. But a baby over 8lbs doesn’t mean you’re more likely to tear.

Scans are only estimates!! My second was estimated 7lbs at birth but come out 9lbs 1oz.
My first was 8lbs 3oz, I found my bigger baby easier to push out! Don’t worry you will be fine. They wouldn’t let you do it naturally if they didn’t think you could xx

Our baby is estimated 8lb 10oz - my midwife said her son was born that weight and was very straightforward. It’s within the normal range 😊

My hair dresser actually said her son at over 8lb was easier than her son at 6lb which ended up needing assistance…. extra weight helped natural labour

I gave birth to a 8.3 lbs baby, a 8.6 lbs baby, and a 9.1 lbs baby 😊 I’m petite and so I was worried I couldn’t push out a large baby, but I’ve done it three times, and I only tore with my first due to the doctor having to go up inside and pull pieces of my placenta out when it broke (because he pulled on the umbilical cord). My first was my smallest, I had 0 tears from my bigger babies. You can do it mama! I know a woman the same height as me and she has had three 11+ lbs babies vaginally at home with no pain meds!

My MIL is like 5ft 2 and my partner weighted 10lb 11oz, she had to have a section to get the fat little chunk out lol. My first baby was 8lb 4oz, then this one predicted to be 8lb 5oz. I had to have an episiotomy with my first, hoping I don't have to have another one this time. Every woman is different xx
