Has anyone started Zoloft or something similar for symptoms of PPD PPA and postpartum rage? I’m under a lot of stress. My partner works nights and I am absolutely exhausted- the sleep deprivation and lack of help with the baby is making me full of rage and I snap at my partner so easily. I’ve been crying at least once a week. It’s a lot.
I got a prescription for Zoloft and started taking it last night. What was your experience with Zoloft? Just curious.

Unfortunately this didn’t work all that well for me after my second kid all it did was give me side effects and no good results but effects everyone different went threw a few different things so far have been taking Prozac newly just few days on it so fingers crossed

I was prescribed 50 mg of zoloft for the same reason. It gave me really bad brain fog and I gained 25 lbs in the 5 months I was on it because it made me eat so much.

So I’m on 30 mg of celexa since July and it has been life changing for my. I also just started seeing a psychiatrist. I was taking the celexa for ppd and ppa- my mood was great but was having what I know understand to be manic episodes and just recently diagnosed with bipolar depression. I am now taking 25 mg of lamictal with the 30 mg of celexa (will ween off as we increase dosage of lamictal) and also prescribed atarax to help me sleep.
thanks for your input! I’m hoping it takes the edge off for me too.
sorry it didn’t work for you- the side effects look so scary! But you’re right everyone is different. I hope Prozac ends up working well for you!
omg I can’t imagine! 25 pounds 🙃 I haven’t read anywhere that it increases appetite- but thanks for your input!
im sure it was a relief to be diagnosed and find some medications to help you! Thanks for sharing.

I agree with ‘s experience.
Though we had to switch to a different medication that worked better for me… The medication isn’t a “solve all” solution, but it helps with managing my emotions. I do notice a difference if I forget to take my meds in the morning. The most progress has honestly come from therapy with someone who had experience with PPD patients AND getting help with either the baby or other responsibilities (house chores, etc.)… I’m only one person, I can’t do both. My husband wouldn’t be able to do both either and luckily he acknowledges that and helps when I ask him.
I do still have my stressful/emotional moments, but with the help of medications — I don’t feel so overwhelmed by them as before!
Hope you gain the strength to get through this phase in life. It may not seem like it, but this does have an end. 💛
