Had my weekly appt today. I’m 37w5d. I saw a new doctor and the fundamental height of my uterus (am I saying that right?) was small- 31cm. I’ve always been fine with measurements and last week was 35cm. The doctor said it’s probably the position of the baby or because she’s moving down (makes sense). I’m 3cm, thin cervix and head is low. Baby is doing great. Here is the weird part, because my fundamental height was so small, she wants me to get a growth ultra sound to check in baby- I had to schedule this and can’t get in until January 9th (I’m due the 14th!). I ended up calling and talking to a nurse because I’m so confused. I’m glad they aren’t concerned, but then what’s the point of waiting/getting this ultrasound when I’m 39wks? Does this seem weird to anyone else?

They just want to make sure baby is not getting smaller or growth restricted.

Right- but why would they wait so long then to send me? Good chance I have the baby before the appointment.

Fundal height. Can’t the hospital get you an earlier growth scan?

Guess not. They were like, that’s the earliest appt we have…

I was measuring ahead at my 33 week appointment and she sent me to have a growth scan a few days ago at 35 weeks just to turn around and gave another scan next week at 36 weeks to make sure he’s still head down. I was very confused as to why I needed the additional scan when i already had a scan scheduled for 36 weeks. I still don’t know why they couldn’t add it to the 36 week one
