Son jumping out of crib

I rock and feed my 19 month old to sleep. The past 2 days he has learned how to get out of the crib on his own. Sometimes when I lay him down he cries for like a minute and then passes back out. However, tonight he literally just jumped gracefully out of the crib. It was super impressive but also dangerous.

I was wondering if anyone has figured out a method to keep him in his crib and/or, if I put him in a toddler bed, how to keep him in the room so he can actually sleep.

I say it’s time to transition to a toddler bed, I’ve seen moms just put the mattress on the floor so if the baby rolls off or wants to get up it’s not gonna be a big fall for them

Definitely time to move him to a toddler bed as the crib is no longer safe for him. Try and find a lovey for him for his bed that he can only have in bed to help incentivize him to stay in it when you transition him. It’s going to take work and a lot of kids get up because they think they’re missing out on things

I switched my son to a toddler bed and I’m so glad I did. I just rock him to sleep and place him on his bed and he stays asleep for the night and if he wakes up (during nap time) I don’t have to worry about him getting injured, he can freely move in and out of his bed. 😊

My daughter started doing this a few months ago at ~17 months. We bought a crib tent off Amazon & it worked instantly. I wasn’t sure she’d go for it, but she loves it. Transitioning to a toddler bed definitely depends on your child, but I don’t think (& still don’t think) she’s ready yet.

If you don’t want to transition out of the crib yet or aren’t able to right away, sleep sacks worked great for me. Unless you already use them and your toddler has major skills lol! Might be something to try.

Are you sure it’s on the lowest level? If so, yep! It’s Toddler bed time! To be safe I’d put a pillow on the floor beside it for a while just to see how he does.

Thank you ladies for the helpful comments!
I am 33 weeks pregnant with our second and I had to go to the hospital last night for blood pressure issues (everything is fine!). I got my son to sleep before I went and he again just jumped out. The bed is on the lowest setting too! We have a playground thing in our backyard and he likes to hang from this swinging bar and he can climb up a fairly big ladder without any help. So he's been building some serious muscle, which is why I think he can just jump over the crib railing and lower himself down so easily and gracefully.
Anyways my husband got him asleep in our bed while I was in the hospital and when I got home to go to sleep, our son woke up. The sleep sack thing worked. I had to put it on backwards because he can unzip the sack. He fell asleep around 230AM and here I am at work 🙃 so tired.
I think he's physically ready for a toddler bed but I don't think he's mentally ready. He can open the door to his room too and he will not stay in bed🤦🏻‍♀️

So we are going to stick with the crib and the sleep sack method for now. I've ordered him a little bunny with a night light in it for him. We will reasses the toddler bed thing in a few more months. I also put his mattress that I bought for his pack and play which is pretty thick by his crib in case he somehow figures out how to get out of the crib with a sleep sack on. If that happens then we will definitely switch to a toddler bed. I just don't know how I'm going to get him to stay in his room and sleep. He opens doors like nothing and we have turn knobs too, which are harder to open lol I'm exhausted.

How many naps does your 4MO have?

Hi ladies, just wondered how many naps your bubbas are having a day?

My little girl sleeps from 7:30pm - 6:30am ish and is still having around 5 naps a day. Her WW vary from an hour up to around 1hr 30/45 mins. I keep reading everywhere about babies transitioning to 3 naps a day but I just don’t see how this is possible as my LO gets so fussy if I push her WW too long.

TIA 🙏🤞

Hardest stage yet

I love my little boy to death but my god the 4-6 month stage is killing me off!
I did struggle with the newborn stage being a new mum but wow bring back my newborn 😭

Naps no more than 40 minutes at a time,
He use to sleep through now wakes up 1/2 times a night and wants to start the day at 6am 😴
Screaming like a banshee, loves to roll about but hates the fact he can’t crawl yet and makes it known 😂
cannot be kept entertained for more than 10 minutes at a time.
Doesn’t want to be held sometimes but doesn’t want to be put down (I can’t win 😅)
If it wasn’t for his cheeky personality and the smiles/belly laughs I think I would have lost my mind at this point!

Please tell me I’m not alone 🥲

Getting out of the house

Please tell me I’m not the only one who finds it near impossible to get out of the house with my LO 😓 She’s 4.5 months and I’ve barely gone outside since giving birth. Where I live it’s still super cold and the 3 times I attempted an outdoor walk with her she started crying after 10 minutes…
She won’t nap or nurse on the go anymore and still nurses every 1.5-2 hours. Up until 4 months her cluster feeding was so frequent I couldn’t go anywhere because of that. I’m completely house bound and going crazy. I feel like every other new mom I see on my social media is out to restaurants, Pilates classes, vacations, etc with their babies and for some reason I’m the only one who can’t handle it. Tell me this gets easier 😭

Edit: *it’s not because I worry about OTHER people with my baby’s crying- her crying stresses ME out especially because I know I’m depriving her of food or sleep because I went further than 30 minutes from our house and she won’t nurse or nap until we get home. It just feels like too much hassle and stress to bother.

Help - trapped gas

My baby struggles to fart and poop. She looks so uncomfortable and tries to strain. I've tried infacol and dentanox. But no luck. I've tried massage, bicycle kicks and bathing but no luck. Only a few pumps. Anyone got any other tricks to try? Desperate tired mummy 🫩

Is 2 year olds (almost 3) too young to start learning to read letters?

Not expecting him to suddenly master it or anything but we have been doing alphabet and phonics for awhile cause he always wanted us to draw and after a point we ran out of new things so we went on to letters and numbers 😅 but he knows almost all of them so I don’t know if to see if he can string them together to read cat or something
