I am honestly tired of my gp and midwives. I get to see the midwives once in a blue moon and it’s always a different person each time I go. I was supposed to have my glucose test today. The midwife gave me some documents to take along for the test the last time I saw her, didn’t know she gave me useless documents 😠, only for me to get to the clinic today for the test and I was told they can’t run the test because my midwife didn’t include the right documents and that I will have to call her back to reschedule. After leaving my house without eating and wasting my time 😑😑😑. And the annoying part is I don’t even have direct access to the midwife so I have to wait for our next appointment to see her. I’m so livid right now I just needed to rant and let this out of my chest 😩

Can you not call the community midwives unit that your midwife is with. Hopefully they can give her a message for you or help you sort this mess before your next appointment

If you call the community midwives as suggested by Sarah I think any of them can sort it as with my first pregnancy I never saw the same midwife/health visitor after/ anyone!! And I was a high risk pregnancy with low papp a and previous problems x

I called but was told that they’re unable to answer my call at the moment 😕

that’s strange. Did they say why? I would keep trying to call them until they sort it out x

Did they give you an email for any queries outside of your appointments?

No, they didn’t

Dial 111 if from the uk , explain to them that its coursing you stress and anxiety which mental is healthy for you or the baby tell them everything that's going on they will refer you to the doctor and then also contact the community midwife line or go online yourself write a massive complaint about what's going on they should see too you straight away soon as you mention anxiety and stress mental health doctors have ro see you as you are pregnant

I just called again, and someone finally answered, I explained everything and she said she’d call the hospital and have them call me back for the appointment as there’s no booking date till February which is too far. But I already ate so I doubt if I’d still be able to do the test today😕

that’s usually the case and they will get back to you. I didn’t have to take anything with me bar my green folder which you take to every appointment. You should have been provided with an email address to

Is this a cov thing?
I had issues with my midwife too - she was never available and only saw her once in the first 5 months!! With no other contact! I tried to make appointments with her but she was always busy/unavailable or I’d book in and she’d cancel/go home early! I got fed up and rang the community nurse and asked to have a different midwife, best thing I did!

I was told I didn’t have a set midwife at 12 weeks. My gp surgery said it was because the lady who was meant to be my midwife had taken early mat leave (which turned out to be a total lie) I then had to chase and chase for my 16 week check in and at 20 weeks when I still hadn’t had anything I had a call from a random midwife in the next town saying I had missed my appointment. I called and said no one has ever informed me of that appointment and she said oh you’re right no one called text or emailed. They got me in the next day for a midwife appointment at the birth centre at the hospital and I asked if she could be mg set midwife and she said that was fine and set all my future appointments there and then but was horrible!

I think it’s a Cov thing, cos my friend in Birmingham who is also pregnant said it’s different for her. I am 7months gone and I’ve only seen the midwife thrice which I find absurd as it’s my first pregnancy, plus no antenatal classes, just one so far. I never presumed it to be like this

Sorry you had to go through all of that😕

Same here. Been texting my midwife with concerns and nothing back until 2 months later when i found out she is off sick. I asked for a different midwife and i keep going in circles - i'm being sent from pillar to post. At my last app. The midwife i saw said she will write to my GP to request some iron tablets. 3 weeks later being going in circles again trying to chase this up. It's a nightmare, especially as a first time experience, feel so lost sometimes. I've given up

I think this issue is general as most people are going through same. It’s such a shame

@Chesca I'm high risk and low pappa as well, also havent seen same midwifes but my experience so far with RLH is good. Were you okay at the end?
