Removing dummy

I always take my sons dummy out once hes settled at bed time now he spits it out when he’s ready to go to sleep but then sometimes he cries for it in the night so I’ll put it back in he will settle and spit it back out been doing it since he was born x

This is what my son does, but I have to replace it numerous times throughout the night when he stirs. I’d rather he just learnt to self sooth without it!

I took my son’s dummy away last Monday - cold turkey! He forgot about it surprisingly quickly and now sleeps much better at night!

how old is he? Was he quite reliant on it beforehand? And did you have a few nights of hell? Xx
