I took my older daughter to the hairdresser's today, came back after a while and my mil was holding my little one. I called out to baby and she didn't lean into me - my mil immediately said oh she doesn't want to come to you, she doesn't want to still holding her.
I can't understand why you would need to make that comment - I think it's just not nice to say that and malicious...
especially when I'm starting work next week and already feel sad about leaving my daughter. I'm probably being sensitive

Unnecessary to say that to you but your baby wants no one else in the world more than they want you. Even if in the moment they reach out to someone or don’t come back to you straight away could simply be she’s comfy but she 100% wants you

Emotional time returning to work but I’m sure it wasn’t meant nastily.
Move on and enjoy your last few days of Mat leave.
Trust me returning to work is the best! I had a magical year off but now I’m using my brain and feel great. It’s exhausting don’t get me wrong but life is good :)

That would annoy me, no need to say it as it’s obvious enough by the baby not coming to you
