Keep trying mama! Encourage him, try different foods - try some cut into strips and some in little pieces. Let him experiment with some food on a spoon. Be prepared for a mess. Eat together with him. He'll get the hang of it! I wouldn't worry too much just yet. We place so much pressure on parents and kids to hit these milestones. You can always ask your doctor if you're worried.

The biggest thing you can do is offer! My daughter is also very picky on how food is presented. For example when we would cook penne pasta I would cut her pasta a little smaller. She started hating it and just throwing it to the ground immediately. So I tried giving her the full piece and now she eats it great. Offer different shaped food and present it differently. Sometimes my daughter wants strips of toast and sometimes she wants little square pieces. So I do both. If she rejects one we try the other. All you can do is offer and soon baby will want more and do more!

Just keep trying! Even if she barely eats it’s okay at least it’s something and he’s trying. Eventually he will get the hang of it but it took a while to get my son to like eating. He would chew and spit out aloooott at first and it would get me frustrated because I would cook for him for nothing 😂 but don’t give up! I do sit and eat with him at the same time and used to show him me chewing my food and swallowing and saying yummm and exaggerating everything lol. Also just put pieces of food in front of him and let him play with it and see what he does with it. You can still spoon feed him but still put a little bit of food infront of him.

I don’t think he’s behind 💚

Mine isn’t interested either, it takes soo much effort to try and he hates his high chair too😩 I’ll keep trying but barely 😅

Thank you so much everyone! All of this is extremely helpful and makes me feel like I’m not doing anything wrong. I will keep trying. I really appreciate this support. 🤍

it’s so hard 😩

I think there's just something primal in us moms too where we always worry about our kids getting enough to eat. But you're doing great! He'll get the hang of it!

I breastfed like 30-60 mins before offering solids. I did that when we started solids. I would offer with his own plate and utensils, and let him explore and get messy. He slowly started to try and now eats mostly on his own. Don’t pressure baby, just offer and eat in front of him. Make noises like it’s super yummy. When he touches the food or picks it up say wow. Just make it interesting and interactive. We still breastfeed now but it’s a little less
