As the title says, my nearly 9mo baby is just not a huge eater. I don't know if we just need to be more diligent about offering solids or what, but whenever we prepare something for him or give him snacks, he'll just kind of hold it and maybe take a few bites/teeth on it for a while then get bored. I know they say food before 1 is just for fun, but it's discouraging seeing other babies around this age eating half a plate or even entire plates of food while my little guy still only seems to have eyes for milk. Anyone have tips on getting baby more interested in eating consistently?

I'm in the same position with my 9 month old, he is high centile but barely eats no matter how much or what we offer hi.

My baby just turned 9 months today and is THE EXACT SAME. She also has never cared for breastfeeding and I’ve had to always feed her sleepy or asleep. I don’t have any advice but you’re not alone :) they will eat eventually!

Around 9-10 my months was when my LG finally started to get the whole concept. it was also around the time I introduced a 3rd meal so it could be the constant exposure finally got her more interested. Even now at 11 months she still only really picks one meal of the day that she will eat more of and the other two will be a few bites and that's it.
And I hate to say it but you may see the after plate but rarely the after bib, chair and floor where a LOT of food will be thrown or hidden. Try not to make them before and afters get to you.

My ebf baby will be 9 months at the end of the month and I could have written this post myself. It's can be super discouraging, making him food just to see it all on the floor with barely a bite taken. We are doing BLW because he refused to be spoon fed from the start, so at least he's getting the sensory exposure with his hands and having fun exploring

Our little boy was closer to 10 months before he took a real interest in food and it coincided with him starting nursery. Hes two now and absolutely loves his food so don't worry at all 😊 they get there eventually x
