My partner just said he don’t want to be in the room during birth. I never asked, as I just assumed he will be together…Did your partners stay together during labour or just stayed together for so long during contractions and then waited outside? PS he is supportive and loving partner but the way he said this it’s sounded like he nervous to see any blood… did your partner stayed together during labour? If not did anyone stayed with you? I think I don’t want anyone else it is my partner or I will be on my own

My husband left when I got the epidural and I was fuming 🙈 but I never even questioned he’d be there for the birth, last time or this time!! Has he said why not? Could you have someone else as well like your mum or close family or friend if he’s likely to bail when you need support the most? I’d say you need someone if possible but I’d definitely expect it to be my husband, he can stay at the top end and hold your hand if he doesn’t want to see everything! X

My partner is going to be there throughout, I know he would rather not see me in pain etc but we are in this together and knows as much as he is going to find it hard he has to put the way he feels aside so that he can support me. I will also have my mum there however I have told her it's for her benefit not mine so if at any point it's too much having her in the room I will ask her to leave. As much as we love our mum's we all know they can annoy us like no one else in the world 🤣. My sister's partner didn't stay in the room when she had her baby as it was too much for him and he doesn't like 'that stuff', I personally wouldn't be too happy about it but I think she expected it as he hasn't been at any of his childrens births x

My partner is excited to be with me for the birth, he has even done his research and helped with writing birth plan. I just think that your partner should be the one person in the world who you can lean on at the toughest times. I think you need someone with you who is going to be strong for you, if your husband can not handle it xx

My ex partner was with me with our first (was my ex at the time) this time I’m doing it alone most likely but that’s okay with me x

I asked mine to not be there.
He has totally rebelled against the idea of leaving me alone. (I'm weird and like to hide if I'm hurting)
I think I'd be knows he'll be a fainter then it makes sense. Otherwise maybe put on one of the birth documentaries so he had to see how other dad's behave.
