I feel down and also like a failure because my baby will turn 4 months old this Sunday and I’m still unsure on how to go about introducing him to food. Also, he appears to be teething and I haven’t done the frozen milk for him to suck on to soothe this gums. Any ideas? I feel like I should know all this. :(

Don't fret, there's no way for you to know everything there is to know. Honestly I would hold off until he is 6 months and hitting certain milestones because giving him food too early can harm him. The AAP recommends waiting until 6 months and meeting specific milestones such as sitting up unassisted. Feel free to send me a PM if you'd like

you’re a first time mom you will not know a lot of things… start with baby cereal mix it in a bowl with milk and feed him… but your pediatrician will let you know when it’s good for him

You still have two months to figure it out!! People do start at 4 months but imo it’s better to wait til 6 months for digestive reasons plus they are so much more alert at 6 months and I trust the gag reflect more. There’s a lot of good books on baby feeding and solid starts is a great app for tracking and they tell you how to prepare foods.
I really like this one since we are vegan in my household, they give a lot of great info on nutrition and there are recipes of course too.

You're not really supposed to start solids until 6 months so you have plenty of time!

I didn’t introduce any food until my lo was 6 months. Just take it slow if you want

I only started with baby cereal when my son was 5 months old and had good head support!! Every mama starts their baby at different times when they feel that they’re ready.

For the teething, you can put pacifiers in the freezer. They’ve worked wonders for my girl every time a new tooth pops through.

You shouldn't be starting solids at 4mo unless told by a doctor so please do not worry about that at all!
My lb starting teething around 2 months and was completely uninterested in all teething products! We used to just we a cloth with cold water and let him chew on that! Or we'd refrigerate or freeze it for a short amount of time!
As first time moms it's so hard to feel like you're doing anything right but you definitely are and will continue to do so especially if you're caring this much! You got this and your little guy is so lucky to have you ❤️

Like everyone said, wait until 6 months and sitting up because that’s what is best for baby! I am nervous too! But we got this! ❤️

My first one started around 4 months old and used the baby cereal with breastmilk or formula in a bottle or feeding with a spoon. She was interested in it and what was going on. My doctor said 4 to 6 months to start, once you see them looking at your food or grabbing for it, it's the perfect time to know/start.

Our baby wasn’t ready for solids at 6 months (despite crawling at 4.5 months!) so she only starting playing with some solids around 8 months and eating confidently at 9 months. I used to think 6 months solids was like a rule that applied to everyone but I learned it’s not. Writing this in case it reassures someone else in the same situation

There is absolutely no hurry to start foods 🤗 we started at 6mo with one meal a day with baby led weaning ... now is the time to do some research and find what works for you and your bub 💖 up until one year old, their primary nutrition source is milk, so no hurry when it comes to food or amounts of food ☺️

You have two months to figure this out - don't stress!
