I'm due in April with my second baby boy and while the rest of my work colleagues are excited for me there is one in particular who is becoming difficult to handle. She has 2 boys of her own, 5 and 2, and every time she sees me she tells me how crazy/mad/chaotic/sometimes awful it is to have 2 boys--the fighting and bickering. I'm fully aware siblings fight (I have 2 of my own) but the constant comments are wearing me down. They're usually followed by "just you wait...[jnsert something negative about birth]" and then something along the lines of "you'll be 2 and done with 2 boys!" I know everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions and has different experiences but it's really becoming too much. If we're on a Teams meeting I just say nothing and pretend I didn't hear but in person I can't avoid her. What can I say to her that basically says shut up?! Given she's a loud, popular work colleague and we're not that close.

That’s very inappropriate. I’m also having my second boy!
I’d say something like, ‘im sure sometimes it will be tricky, but I’m excited to have two boys grow up together and form a strong bond. Two little best mates. Friends have told me it’s the best.’

I'd personally speak to my manager or HR and just explain to them that I feel like I can't approach said person and express in a professional manner how her comments are inappropriate. And ask them to speak to her on my behalf and ask her to tone it down/stop it.... helpful tips and comments are welcome, but what she's doing it just inappropriate z

“That’s your opinion/experience”

Lol me and my older SISTER still argue like we're kids, lmao. Gender really doesn’t matter when it comes to falling out 😂
