Does anyone else LO seem to prefer, or sleeps better at night with a longer first wake window and shorter ones as the day goes on?
We were at baby group one morning a few weeks ago, and because my LG woke up very early her first wake window was over 4 hours, so we shortened the rest of her day to accommodate, however she slept for 6 solid hours that night, which is the most she has slept since the 4 month regression. We have been on 2/3 hourly wakes since then but she used to sleep right through from 9pm to 10am until the regression.
I'm starting to wonder if she's waking up so much in the night because she's not tired enough to sleep through on the average recommended wake windows of 3/3.5/3.75. But I'm also worried she will become overtired, it's hard finding a balance!

Our little girl likes a 4 hour wake window, especially before bed. She is a great sleeper. Morning wake window is around 3 hours, afternoon 3-4 and then 4 before bed. Worth a try if she isn't showing obvious signs of wanting a nap, stretch it a little.
@Marie thanks for replying 😊 wow thats great your LG is such a good sleeper. We cope okay on the broken nights but more sleep would be brilliant of course, we tried the 4hr/longer windows before bed for a few weeks and that unfortunately didn't make any difference to her night wakes. But maybe I wasn't keeping her awake long enough for the other windows. Another thing that has changed though is that she is now napping only 2.5 hrs total during the day, rather than 3 hours.
It's probably a combination of things that caused her to sleep for 6 hours, but we'd love to be able to replicate it as we really would like to be able to get some sleep now 😅

We are the same. If we keep her last window any longer than 4 hours we get false starts as she’s over tired .. I suppose they are all different. Wake windows tend to be 3/3.5 4hrs then 3/3.5hrs

It's hard isn't it when you see an improvment in their night sleep and you want to know exactly what caused it so you can replicate! I went through a stage of only using one sleeping bag because i thought she only slept well in that one 😆 made no sense since i had the same sleep bag in a different colour, same brand! 🙈 these little ones get in our heads don't they!
