NYC pregnancy care & birthing experience

Researching the best hospitals to deliver at in NYC and it seems like NYU, NY Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and Lenox Hill are top rated with Mt. Sinai slightly behind. I’m hoping to transfer care from my current OB and looking for a collaborative care model and would ideally have access to midwives or maybe bring in a doula. Any experiences or insights are appreciated!

I gave birth at Lenox Hill with my OB and help of a doula. I wanted a low-intervention, unmedicated birth and I got it but I had to really advocate for it (so did my doula) because it is definitely not the norm there. The private recovery wing is nice though.

Have you used Oula? Did you have a good experience at Mt. Sinai West?

I just started prenatal care at Oula. So would also love to hear your experience delivering at Mt Sinai

Hi, I gave birth at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital with the Park Slope midwives. I gave my birth plan and everyone was accommodating and confirmed before offering anything outside of my plan. They also have midwives and doulas on staff for labor and delivery support even if you are working with a different OB.

I used PureOBGYN and delivered at Mt Sinai, literally the best experiences I could have hoped for!

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
