Just need to vent. Today’s one of those days where I feel so negatively towards having a baby. It’s the stupidest thing because I wanted to be a mom so bad and we tried for over a year. And now that baby is here I just hate myself for feeling so bothered and annoyed but she just does not sleep.
Granted I’m the type that loves routine and structure and since baby is young we don’t have that. I follow her cues. But she is the worst napper and I’m so over it.
I went to a friends house, who is desperate to have a baby and has PCOS so is struggling, and all I could talk about was the negatives of it and I feel so terrible but today was just a bad day. I expected baby to sleep there and she almost did twice but the minute I put her down she’s wide awake. I obviously did not have a good time.
When does it get better? I’m desperately waiting for her to be 3 months because everyone says it’s better but I hate this process of waiting for the better days. I can’t enjoy the now. I don’t feel this way everyday, today was just over the top. Being home alone all day with a baby is not fun. But then going to a friends house didn’t help either so I’m just so frustrated. I hate that I feel this way.
It’s days like this where I question people who have multiple kids. I’m seriously considering one and done. I don’t miss pregnancy one bit and I know for sure I won’t miss this newborn stage.
Thanks for anyone who read this far.

Don’t feel bad!!! I think we all go through this at some point… idk how old your baby is but mine is about to be 8 weeks and she’s usually up from 6pm to 11pm not matter what I do she won’t sleep and if she does it’s a little cat nap … it’s ok to be flustered and to even hate it at times… it sucks to be home all day with a baby and feel like you don’t get a break. I like routine and structure too and a baby basically turns your world upside down! I’ve learnt to take each day as it comes and embrace the changes. She used to be a lot worse when she was a few weeks old so it does progressively get better ☺️ hang in there mama!
thank you for responding and understanding, you’re very sweet. I feel like I fail her when I can’t get her to nap or sleep because of the whole wake window thing. I’ve become obsessed with it. I don’t know how other mothers are doing it, and if they’re even following wake windows. She’s a good baby overall but I guess there are these days where it’s harder than usual

I’m literally going through the same feeling! And I hate feeling this way I wish I could just enjoy these moments and be happy with my baby but it’s hard when I get 0 sleep & yes being a stay at home home and having to be with her 24/7 is mentally draining but I always tell my self “baby doesn’t know any better she needs you” and that helps a little .. but I feel you
I think I realized it’s days where I’m with baby all day but also get no break at all when my husband is home is what makes me feel like this. I guess I’ve been feeling guilty that I need breaks from baby but honestly maybe it’s good for both of us when we do cause baby needs to bond with dad too

I get it! I try to follow wake windows to the best of my ability… but she becomes easily stimulated even if we’re in a dark room when she’s not ready to sleep she’s not ready to sleep… they say babies are supposed to sleep between 12-18 hrs and mine barely gets to 12 😭😰. I nurse to sleep which makes it even more draining but I keep reminding myself she won’t be this little forever and try to enjoy her as much as I can… but we have our bad days too. It’ll be ok, you’re doing a great job even if it doesn’t seem like it ❤️I go thru stages of doubt too even when I think I got it all figured out, it’s so scary having a baby
it’s crazy how we’re all going through such similar things but it seems like it’s just happening to us in the moment. Also I used to say I feel like my baby had fomo with how little she sleeps, then a week later I came across something called fomo babies that’s actually a thing 😂 she’s 2 months and already so excited to be apart of the world I guess!

Yes, just like you said. It does feel like it’s just happening to you but trust me we’re all going thru very similar experiences and it’s reassuring to know you’re not alone specially when you hear about other babies sleeping all the time… it’s like that must be nice 😢😭. That’s funny, she definitely has fomo for sure which I don’t blame her… it’s a whole brand new world to explore so I can understand her wanting to be apart of it. Well that’s good to know… isn’t crazy how that happens… every time she does a new thing I’m like is this normal!? And there’ll be an article describing exactly what I’m going thru 🤣
