I have an amazing relationship with my son laws but there's certain things I don't feel comfy with I don't know if it's because I'm a FTM One I can never voice my option Every time I try telling her why I do certaint things she advises me not to listen to doctors , and she feels because she had 5 kids she knows it all and is never wrong ,& I may want to raise my kid different . Another thing that bothers me is taking my 3 week old to sleep with her I'm okay with visiting but I don't feel comfy with her taking him at nights. I appreciate the break she's trying to give us but the early stages of his life should be spent mainly with mom & dad. Please moms tell me if I'm wrong for feeling this way!!! I can't get any help from my child father because he agrees with it all

Definitely do not feel bad for feeling this way. Had to tell my mother in law off a few times when she met my newborn (born december, im a ftm)
thank youu and I've been holding my tongue because I don't wanna ruin are relationship but it's definitely uncomfortable

Just because it may have worked for them doesn’t mean it works for yall!
you have such a cutieee congratulations.🥺❤️

Im in the same boat but stick to your guns and respectfully let them know that’s not what you want for you baby and/or you’re not ready for that but may be sometime in the near future

You’re not wrong in feeling this way! Grandparents need to take a step back and ask how parents want to raise their own children instead of trying to tell them what to do. I agree babies need to be with mom and dad in early days. It’s great for their development, building trust, emotional connection, and imprint of their first days/months of life. Setting boundaries can be hard but advocating for your children is most important. Tell them how you feel, what you appreciate and what you want for you and your child. You have every right!

This has happened to me a few times from both my mom and mother-in-law. each time I say oh well, the pediatrician said and then say exactly what we disagree on and that usually gets them to shut up because they’re not doctors lol

Also, absolutely keep your baby near you at night time that’s insane that she would try to take him lol

I never allowed my mother in law to stay with my first born even when she bought a crib. It’s just not natural and you have to follow your intuition. Do it only if you feel 100% comfortable. The only time he spent the night with the in law he was 1.6 and it was just one time.

They keep comparing their times and the way they raised kids and were kids to ours and I just told my mom, hey I know you want to help, but I’m tired of hearing you say that we need to find help for our 2 year old, he’s just a 2 year old that just had a baby brother. Please just stop. It’s in their nature
