Is anyone else experiencing their little ones sleep being disturbed since they have started talking more? My boy has started saying so many words in the last month or so, and is really wanting to learn what everything is and constantly trying to communicate and talk. The problem is at bedtime he can’t switch off, he sits there still listing all the animal names, colours etc and I can see his eyes literally thinking of things to talk about. It’s made him not want to self soothe and not wanting us to leave the room. Waking in the night etc. we have tried no tv in the build up to bed, calming baths, lullabies, laying in the dark with him etc. has anyone found anything that helps? I know it is a massive development leap and will pass at some point, but he needs sleep more than ever so really would like to help him get better sleep again 🙈🥹

As well as a development leap there is meant to be a really bad sleep regression just before 2🥴🥴🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️so I think we are being hit with it all rn x

Yes mine did the same, was sleeping through by 10 months, started walking at 12 so had regression then, and by 14 months was starting to say a lot of words and it all went down hill from there. At the moment she has to fall asleep in my arms and then sleeps in own room until around 1am when she insists on coming in my bed. I’ve tried to redo the sleep training which she responded so well to before but much harder now and I wasn’t successful.

🙈🙈 can only pray it doesn’t last long!!! lol

our boy will not sleep if we bring him into bed with us - I wish he did 😩 he just rolls around and gets silly, it’s too stimulating for him! God it’s hard isn’t it when you just want to get back to sleep. Hopefully it doesn’t last long, don’t know what else to try to help get through it 🙈. We also have a 8 month old so lately they tag team us, one has a good night sleep and the other is awake then they swap 😂😂🥲

Our daughter wakes up talking, basically. She makes all these new sentences at 5-5:30 am and despite bad sleep all night, she just wants to go out of the bed. We tried shushing, singing, bringing her to our bed (too stimulating just like you said) etc but nothing can convince her to sleep. This morning she said a sentence she had never said before at 5:30 am and she was so thrilled by her little success that she spent the next 30 mins repeating versions of it. We are drained. This has been going on for months now. You’re not alone but can’t suggest anything 😕
