Dropped phone on baby's head

Fell asleep while feeding in bed and dropped phone on his head. Woke up to the thud. He cried for 5 seconds and is now very awake. I feel awful and scared I did damage. Looking for solidarity, surely I'm not the first

Ive dropped my phone on my nieces head in the pram (double pram she was in the bottom so like a good 60cm drop) ive also had my daughter slip off the couch at 4 days old and shes perfectly fine, as my mum says babies bounce not much can damage them tbh

Trust me she wont have brain damage from you dropping a phone on her head, as long as it wasnt her soft spot youre fine

You're definitely not the first, and definitely won't be the last. Unless it landed on his soft spot (which is unlikely) then he'll be fine ☺️ he probably cried from shock rather than injury.

Babies are very resilient. I did a whole 'friends' moment and went to throw him up and hit the beam. Total accident but felt like the worst parent. These things happen. I did take him to the hospital to get checked out. If they are still eating, drinking and moving normally, and the site area is not bleeding or does not have a large bump you're usually ok. FYI they monitor them for four hours if you take them to the hospital (my LO was literally running around the Ped emergency floor).

It’s a good thing he cried after. Everything should be fine :-) just ensure he is still eating well and doing everything that Is ‘normal’ for him.

Did the same with my first, I felt so guilty. Mine was almost the same, except I fell asleep in nursing chair. Bub was all fine!
The crying is good and alertness is good also. See a GP if you are worried (I’d worry about swelling, lethargy, etc.)
I ended up buying a pop socket for my phone and it’s been a game changer - so much easier to hold and carry, and most importantly- I’ve never dropped phone on bub again 😅

I did the same on Boxing Day morning. We were both crying and I felt like the worst Mum ever! He is fine now though. You won't be the first and surely won't be the last 😊

A brand new tin of formula slipped off the back of the ute and fell on my little ones head. Took him to emergency just to check, but he was fine. I felt like the worst mother in the world.

Same happened to me, I dropped my phone accidentally on his back/ ribs. Baby was sleeping and he didn't even wake up. I felt awful and cried. I felt so much guilt thinking I hurt him😭

Done it with both babies; almost did it with 2 just the other night while reading in bed lol

Baby clothes

Just out of curiosity, why do parents love zipper onesies?

Don’t get me wrong, I tried zipper ones it’s easy to zip in and out when putting it on the first time and taking it out, but I find it difficult when changing diapers especially when baby is asleep.

I prefer those kimono style buttons where it’s easy to button or too down button with crotch snaps.

Is everyone thinking the same or different? Lol

At this point I’m not enjoying motherhood

My 22 month old is horrendous at the moment🫣 biting, hitting, pushing, pulling and shoving not only adults but children he also wants what other children have and will just snatch it away from them.

We repeat ‘nice hands’ ‘be gentle’ ‘let’s share’ etc

But how do I make him understand what he’s doing isn’t very nice? At the end of the day I feel like I’ve just been saying his name all day and nothing else.

What can I do?

Help

My LO every feed. Drs don’t seem to think it’s a problem the whole Muslim cloth gets soaked so much I’m using towels now. I’ve tried size O teats he gets really frustrated and still spills it out :(

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.
