LG is 7 months old and she barely eats.
Still has around 25-30oz of formula and barely on one meal due to nap timings and milk timings, we are only able to squeeze in one meal right now.
But even that meal, its like 6 tsp of breakfast cereal. Or 1.5 strawberries.
She also does not have great coordination right now so she misses her mouth alot and food ends up on the floor.
She also only has a few sips of water a day. All well under an ounce.
Is this normal?? Should I be worried?, yes they say food before 1 is just for fun but then I'm also seeing things suggesting I need to ensure she is getting enough iron as after 6 months their body store depletes and we need to supplement it via food so I'm confused about that saying too.
Help??????

My little guy is the same age, I aim to feed him breakfast/lunch and dinner each day but honestly don’t beat myself up about it if he only gets one or the other or sometimes even neither! I offer him the meals sometimes just before he’s due milk because he’s hungry so it might be for food rather than milk!

Honestly don’t stress! I was stressing the same as you but now that my son is 14 months he eats 3 meals and snacks, at 7 months he was just starting purées and oatmeal and berries, bananas etc! I did try and push the iron oatmeal as I heard the same about iron but I think as long as you’re trying here and there eventually by 12 months they catch on. At least mine did!

Totally normal. Food is more about exploring than actually eating until about a year old. Mine was just like yours and then suddenly got really interested in food and water around 11 months and started eating like crazy!
Thanks ladies feel much better xx

Also look at your formula. A lot are fortified in iron and other minerals already.

What’s your routine for bottles, solids and naps?

My pediatrician said your baby gets everything they need from formula or breast milk in the first year. It was really hard to make my baby eat some days, now that she’s older it’s also hit or miss some days lol 😅 but I wouldn’t worry
