Hi ladies! Nap schedules for a 2 month old, do you let your baby sleep whenever they want during the day or do you try to keep them to sleep windows and nap schedule?

i let him nap whenever for us it’s easier and he still sleeps through the night

Everything I’ve researched says it’s most important to follow wake windows. For newborns to 3-4 months, that is awake for only 60-90 min max. That is what we are trying to follow. So, basically we let him sleep whenever but make sure he is never awake too long, so as not to get over tired.

To be honest I let her sleep when she wants to sleep. They’re still babies so why Force it. We do try to keep her up for an hour so she can eat, burp, change and do some tummy time. If she chooses to stay up then I’ll do more things with her but if she doesn’t then I let her nap. She still goes to bed for an average of 6 hrs every night. They eventually find their own routines
Thank you ladies, I’ve been trying to keep to a schedule but wanted to know if it’s better to just let her sleep when she wants

My LO is 2 months and we started following babywise sleep and feed schedule and this helped her sleep for 6-7 he stretch at night

I follow my baby’s sleepy cues. I don’t force wake or sleep windows recommended from the things I’ve read. No other culture outside of western culture is timing their babies’ naps and wake windows (the history behind why western cultures do this is actually fascinating - thank capitalism and the industrialization of childcare). Other cultures/societies follow the baby’s cues. And other cultures’ babies are better sleepers at earlier ages 🤷🏻♀️. I’ve found that my 2 month old sleeps significantly better throughout the night since I’ve started letting her tell me when she’s tired and letting her nap however long she wants and it usually tends to be around the same time each day because she’s developed her own schedule. She takes 30 minute to hour long naps every 2-3 hours during the day and she sleeps from 8pm - 5am. (Occasionally she might wake up once around 1am for a feeding, but not always).

My baby girl sleeps when she wants.. there is no keeping her awake😅 when she sleepy she's gonna sleep! It's hard sometimes bcuz she sleeps more in the day then at night. So I've been trying to help her get a routine by giving her a bath when the sun goes down and turning the lights off so she knows the difference. It works most nights and she'll sleep 4-5 hours then wake up to eat. It's the screaming cry that drives me crazy 🤦🏽♀️ other than that she's good

I follow my babies schedule he likes to be awake around 8 and 11am mostly
