Hello! About 3 weeks ago I started back at work after maternity leave. And my daughter since then has doubled her intake at daycare then what I can produce at work. I tried to pump more often but I'm pumping every 3 hours and getting the same volume as if I pump every 2 hours. Some things I am trying now to increase the supply is oatmeal, mother's milk tea, body armor, and drinking lots of water. Is there something else that I can try? I have also heard that certain beers work, has anybody had any experience with that? I have also added an additional pump right before I go to bed which isn't too long after the last time I feed her but I still get something.
I have a small freezer stash but it slowly dwindling. So I have just this week started trying to supplement and I gave her Similac 360 total care to replace one feeding at home. She didn't mind the taste but has been spitting up pretty consistently throughout the day. I know that there are a hundred different brands of formula but is there one that specifically better for EBF babies?
In the meantime, we had our 4 month appointment at the pediatrician and I mentioned that they might be overfeeding her. They're giving her a 4 oz every 2 hours but they say she's hungry. The pediatrician did things that that was a bit much but then said she didn't think it would cause too much issue because her weight somewhat plateaued. She did gain from her last appointment but it wasn't the exponential Growth they were expecting.

I think it’s hard that they doubled it while you’re not able to feed her through latching. When you get home do you feed her off your breast? Because with pumping your breast can’t tell that your baby needs even more milk, your boobs make more milk depending on how much your baby is trying to drink. You could also try power pumping a weekend, that really helped me increase my supply and I went from getting about 4oz when I pump to about 6-8 off of both breast’s when pumping instead of a feeding. I also feed my baby whenever I can so my boobs can regulate and I think in general he’s drinking more. He’s 4.5 months and drinking 4-5oz of milk every 3-4 hours, and seems satisfied. But I think he must be drinking more when on my boob sometimes because how am I producing 6oz sometimes! Sooo my advice would be to keep doing what you’re doing and try to add in feedings at home when you can, and If you can’t there is absolutely nothing wrong with supplementing with formula!

I do feed from the breast at home. She is 4.5 months also! And i get roughly 3.5 to 4 oz when I pump but she has to be getting more from me because she also goes longer stretches at home without eating and she isn't fussy. I think I'm going to try power pumping and hopefully it will help. Do you need a whole weekend or just a day. I might try tomorrow
