Hey mamas! I was on maternity leave from Jan-Nov 2023. I got EI for these months. Then I got back to work in Dec. So technically I should be filing two T4s, one is the EI T4 and the other my company's T4 for that one month pay.
My question is does the company T4 show a total amount of EI + salary, because mine does. And I'm confused if I should file both T4s? Did my company process my T4 incorrectly?
Thanks

I think your company filled your T4 incorrectly, it should only be your 1 month salary. I worked and was on maternity EI in 2023 , my T4 from my employer is only for the amount I worked, and i got a T4E for the EI I received. You can call service canada to confirm (it may be different in your province, I'm in Quebec)

You should receive a T4 for your employment income and a t4e for your ei income. It is likely that the ei box on your t4 is what your company/you paid into your ei.

The error is from your employer. Curious how your employer knows how much you were receiving from EI. Did you get maternity top up from your company while you were on mat leave? You should reach out to your Payroll/HR to adjust your T4 to employment income only as Service Canada will send you T4E
