Size 8 nappies on 6 month old !

This is really embarrassing but what Suze nappies should I be using I've just kept going up a size and and now am on size 8 pampers bit they r leaving tight marks in my little boys thighs on the inside and it bothers me as it must be painful or itchy for him . I don't know what else to do . I've tried mamia aldi brand they fit as a size 6+ but I'll be moving to 7 soon . Is this normal he's 6.5 months . He does have chunky legs. I'm first time mum and don't know anything about nappies I've only tried pampers and mamia. Any suggestions please it feels like It's wrong I see so many ppl.say their 12 month olds r on size 6

My 2 and a half year old is in a size 7.
Have you tried pull ups instead? They might fit better.
I don't think they do bigger than a size 8?

@Laurie I haven't tried them thats what my worry is maybe I'm putting the wrong size on th3 band goes around in size 5 and size 8 but they leave marks on his legs

Not meaning to stress you out - Also do a check for hip dysplasia just to be on the safe side

@Isobel he was a breech baby so had an xray and thankfully that was fine x

My 18 month old is in size 8 Pampers swaddlers. I don’t think Pampers go past a size 8 mama ☹️ the next step would be toddler diapers.
I’m not saying it’s not normal, please don’t take it the wrong way but the size 8 diapers are pretty big- are you sure you’re using them the correct way? A six month old would be around a size 2/3 diaper. You mention your little one has chunky thighs, my little one was in size 4 diapers when she was a 6 months.

I think at 6 months the average size nappy is 2-3. Size 8 sounds very big but all babies are different. Just wonder if you can get someone to check for you x

Get your baby weighed and then look at the weight guidelines on the nappy packaging

@Jocelyn maybe I'm not using them wrote I don't know . Who donibask for help with this I don't have any family around .

@Sophie he is around 7kg but I was told the weight is just a guideline. Maybe i need to change nappies or figure out how to use then.

My baby is heavier than that and he’s only on size 4. Yes, it’s only a guideline but you should be close to it, not way out.
Watch some YouTube videos or ask your health visitor 😊

Thankyou I will do that x

@Reena my babybhad chunky legs so I'm thinking that whybinkeep going a size up

I find Asda nappies good for chunky legs and they have a size guide on the waistband to tell you when to go up to the next size

@Rachael thankyouu that sounds helpful

Size 8 sounds too big for a 6 month old, my 15 month old is in size 5 pampers and my almost 3 year old is in size 8.

I was gonna post a video and show it to you but the app is telling me it’s too long :(
Do you have the Pampers app downloaded? It shows you on the app as well how the diaper should go on

Avatar

I wonder if you are letting the leg cuff be too far down the thigh. Like it should be up in his creases like a pair of knickers/bikini bottoms

Avatar

@Jocelyn I haven't but I will today

Avatar

oh noni dotn put it in that part I leave it loose sonitnis down his thighs I will try this at his next nappy change

Hey hope you got it figured out but if not, just out of curiosity - are you having any leaks or issues other than the tightness to make you go up a size? MyLO was just over 7kg and yesterday I got size 4 pants for overnight as the smaller ones are filling up fast but we use size 3 comfortably during the day though the diaper brand makes a huge difference ...

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!
