My little one is 4 weeks old and I’ve noticed the last day or so he won’t sleep after his morning feed (7am), but then after his 10am feed will sleep for hours and we have to wake him up around 1pm, does this sound normal? He’s also occasionally falling asleep while eating so thinking we need to up the teet size, otherwise he’s doing well in himself I just worry that his wake windows in the day arent very big!

4 weeks has a wake window of 60-90 minutes. If they are awake to long they can get overstimulated they then become very difficult to get to sleep. My little boy is almost 6 weeks and sleeps most of the day. He’s awake from about 7am aswell I think it’s because he’s wanting to get out of bed and start his day if that makes sense. He then sleeps from about 9 he wakes on his own every 3 hours for a feed.
Hope this helps.

A newborn will sleep between 8-16 hours a day, so that’s totally normal and if they’re falling asleep while feeding they’re probably too tired to eat or they’re just not hungry enough for the whole feed. I wouldn’t size up the teet because the next size is for 2+ months and you’ll find the milk comes out too fast and too quick and it will be too much for your baby of that age to handle X

As long as he is over his birth weight I wouldnt wake him at 1pm. He must need the sleep. Waking him could be the reason he is over tired
